Is it possible to have the end user choose which Group they wish to subscribe to? This seems like such a logical feature.
In a world where there are people who like bananas or apples, we should allow them to choose which types of emails they are interested in: Banana Emails or Apple Emails instead of forcing them into one.
This is a re-post of a comment on How to Integrate with MailChimp

I'm not quite sure if I understood your concern correctly, So basically in your example you have 2 groups with different emails, right? so for example if user A registers to Group 1 the notification that the user A will receive is from Group 1? If what you want is user to select different groups this can be achieve by making a main form for selecting the groups and directing them to each individual Group form. You can provide us more details about you concern.

This never did get answered, but I'm looking into this now too.
In mailchimp you have a list, thats devided into groups...which you can then segment further into different interests.
So on a form we'll ask a multiple choice question that should assign that person to a group within a list, but then also include all the other options we may want to include.
I'm not sure if thats any clearer, or not… and I haven't dug into the problem too much yet.

Unfortunately selection of the groups is done when you setup integration with mailchimp. So, it is not possible for your users to select a group. There was a feature request sent for this quite a while ago but I don't think it was ever implemented. Here is a link to the original post about this, along with the feature request:
