Create and assign personal identifier

I want to create an online form so that each person who registers either selects or is assigned a personal identifier, and allows others to search for them by this number. I also want others to see what is on their public form, but hide their email. The email would be an embedded link where the person would receive a message like "You've received a Gift."

Additionally, I want the identifier to stay with them through their purchases. For example, if a person clicks a link from my page to a vendor, then purchases something from that vendor, so that I get credit for that purchase. Is this possible?

    Hi,

I want to create an online form so that each person who registers either selects or is assigned a personal identifier, and allows others to search for them by this number.

To assign a personal identifier, you can use the Unique ID widget.

    Guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/79-how-to-add-custom-unique-ids-to-your-form-submissions?

Where and when do one person search other persons using personal identifier? Could you give me the details of the workflow?

I also want others to see what is on their public form, but hide their email. The email would be an embedded link where the person would receive a message like "You've received a Gift."

I'm quite baffled by public form. Please note that respondents do not own any of the forms you sent them. Could you please clarify what you want to achieve here?

Additionally, I want the identifier to stay with them through their purchases. For example, if a person clicks a link from my page to a vendor, then purchases something from that vendor, so that I get credit for that purchase. Is this possible?

I think this is not possible. However, you could ask the respondents to enter their identifier before they can proceed to purchasing.

Looking forward to your reply. Thank you.

    Hi Celie
    Thanks so much for answering.
I am building a Go Daddy site. I am working on one of several forms to be
linked. The concept and workflow has two parts:
    1. Person A goes to Shopformygifts.com (GoDaddy), registers the gifts they
want by clicking on "Register Here". That link takes them to the Jot form
that I am working on now. They complete the form, are assigned their
unique ID, then create their wish list.
    2. Person B goes to Shopformygifts.com and clicks on "Find a Registered
Person". I want them to be able to search by name and their Unique ID or
Email. They would be taken to their registration form
Help - I don't know where or how to save the form so that it remains
    accessible.
I know how to use the widget to add a unique identifier, but it
isn't visible. The person searching would need a way to make sure they have
the correct person and they may not have their email.
You mentioned that I can ask the respondents to enter their
identifier before they can proceed to purchasing. I would like to do that.
    How?
I am trying to add multiple links to merchants so that a Person
B can click on any item on Person B's list and be taken to that website.
I intend on upgrading once I figure everything out. I haven't because I've
tried different things and it doesn't or can't work like I want it to. I
need to make sure I can accomplish what I'm trying to do.
Shopformygifts.com does not directly sell any products. It only serves as a
gift registry. Once I figure everything out, I want to link the purchaser
to the purchase so that I can get click credit as I ad merchants.

    Hi there,

Thank you for providing the details.

    1. Person A goes to Shopformygifts.com (GoDaddy), registers the gifts they want by clicking on "Register Here". That link takes them to the Jot form that I am working on now. They complete the form, are assigned their unique ID, then create their wish list.

I've checked your account and looks like you've already achieved the first part of your workflow.

    2. Person B goes to Shopformygifts.com and clicks on "Find a Registered Person". I want them to be able to search by name and their Unique ID or Email. They would be taken to their registration form Help - I don't know where or how to save the form so that it remains accessible.

This part can be achieved using "Spreadsheet to form widget". Person B will only have to enter the Unique code rest of the data will populate automatically. You will only have to make sure that the column names in the spreadsheet and field labels are exactly the same. Please check out the guide below and let us know if you have any related questions.

    https://www.jotform.com/help/442-How-to-Use-the-Spreadsheet-to-Form-Widget

To save the form you can enable the Autofill function in your form settings. Please check the related guide below.

    https://www.jotform.com/help/227-how-to-enable-autofill-on-forms

This will add a "Save" button in your form. Once it is clicked an incomplete session will get created and the user will be able to continue the form again later.

I know how to use the widget to add a unique identifier, but it isn't visible. The person searching would need a way to make sure they have the correct person and they may not have their email. You mentioned that I can ask the respondents to enter their identifier before they can proceed to purchasing. I would like to do that. How?

If I understood correctly the Person B will already know who is Person A. If that is the case then Person A must know what their Unique ID is. You can display the Unique ID on the thank you page and in the Autoresponder email. Please check the demo form below and the related guides as well.

I am trying to add multiple links to merchants so that a Person B can click on any item on Person B's list and be taken to that website. I intend on upgrading once I figure everything out. I haven't because I've

tried different things and it doesn't or can't work like I want it to. I need to make sure I can accomplish what I'm trying to do. Shopformygifts.com does not directly sell any products. It only serves as a

gift registry. Once I figure everything out, I want to link the purchaser to the purchase so that I can get click credit as I ad merchants.

If I understood this part correctly the Links you are referring to will be like affiliate links? If that is the case then you can add the links using Paragraph fields so the users can get redirected to the seller with your ID and you can get the commission/credit after the purchase.
