I've downloaded a template but when I hit submit it comes through with the subject field filled out by the original author. How do I change this?

You can change the subject by editing the email notification in the Compose Email screen of your notiication. While on the edit mode of your form select Email Alerts then Select the notification that you would like to change and then edit the subject line.
