Paypal says it is connected then drops out

    I have set up a Business Paypal account with my bank details etc today and the forms ask for it to connected to Jotform. I connect, it says it has linked and then it drops out and says there is a problem. Please help as I need to send this form out today - thank you!

    Message is:

    There is an error in PayPal connection. Please contact the form owner.

    Hi QWERTYkids,

    We apologize for the inconvenience.

    That seems to be an error with Paypal. Where there is an error, regardless of what activity you do, Paypal will detect that. When that happens, it is advisable to wait for a few minutes before trying again. Some even suggest to wait for a few hours. 

    Please try the following:

    1. Clear your browser cookies for Jotform and Paypal. 

    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/delete-cookies-remove-info-websites-stored 

    https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647?hl=en 

    https://support.apple.com/en-ph/guide/safari/sfri11471/mac 

    2. You will be asked to log in again to Jotform.

    3. Edit your form, and click the Connect with the Paypal button in the Paypal settings.

    4. This time, you will be required to log in with Paypal.

    Hopefully, the connection will work. If not, I would suggest contacting Paypal to see if they blocked your authentication and to see if they can release that. Paypal will verify your details to process your request.

    I have cleared browser of all cookies and still the same issues. I have spent ages on phone to PayPal who say it is not an issue there end - please help. Can you look at my form and see if you can see the issue please?

    Hello there!

    Sorry for the frustrations caused.

    Kindly switch from the PayPal Business to the PayPal Checkout widget instead and let us know if you are still having issues.

    Sorry, yes that has worked thank you. However I hadn't realised that Paypal charges you. Can you use a personal account to link to Jotform please? Or does it have to be a business account? Thank you

    Yes, you can use the PayPal Personal widget with a personal PayPal account to receive payments.
