    RSS feeds have a colon (:) infront of all the content.

    Asked by USMLE on October 01, 2013 at 09:24 AM

    Is ther any way I could remove the : colon that gets associated with the content of the rss. I publish only the content of the rss and it includes the : in all of it. Please advice. Thank you.

    Hi,

    it seems that the colon ":" appears after the name of the text field, in this case as the text field doesn't have a label configured, only appear the colon ":".

    You could assign a label to that text field and then make it invisble in your form using custom css, in this way you will have at your RSS feed something like: "Tweet: (content of the text field)" instead of ": (content of the text field)".

    Examples:

    RSS report: http://support.jotform.com/rss/32734192731049

    How to configure and hide the label of the text box:

    1 - Click on the field properties icon

    2 - Click on "Show Properties"

    3 - Configure the "Question" label, in this case I chose "Tweet"

    4 -

    Once you configured the field label is time to hide it by injecting this custom css:

    #label_4 {

    display: none;

    }

    How to Inject Custom Css

    Hope it helps

    please let us know if you need further assistance

    Thank you for the answer.. But since I am interested only in the content of the submission and not the heading, the rss is still of no use since it is now including an extra term term "tweet:". It feels logical to make the colon a part of the heading rather than that of the content. If one needs the header too, it is logical to include the colon in it, but it is not solving my purpose. I think this could be modied from your side. Please do tell me if you find my suggestion logical and helpful.

    Are you trying to post Form Entry/Message to Twitter? If yes, you may consider Zapier - Jotform - Twitter Integration: http://zpr.io/6iYY. This shouldn't create any headers and/or field labels as message. Example: https://twitter.com/welvinrc/status/385067990297096192

    You can also use Zapier - Jotform - RSS: http://zpr.io/6iYa. To be more specific since this is your requirements.

    Please open a separate thread for this suggestion so we can add this to our Feature Request List. You can start from here: http://www.jotform.com/answers/answer.php?

    Thanks

    Thank you Welvin. It worked.

    However, it could have been done without using another service by just modifying the colon as a part of the heading rather than how it is now as a part of the submission. Please look into it, it is very logical and it seems to me as a bug I just discovered. I am sure your engineers would look into it. I have one more request, could you please remove the screenshot above if possible. Much regards.

    Yes, the feature to allow form owners to modify what to include in the report would be awesome and a good addition but I request you to open a separate thread for that.

    There's no bug by the way. That's just how it works for now. Our developers may consider adding the option, just please open a new thread so we can let them know about it.

    Screenshots have been removed.

    Thanks
