This seems like an oversight that I have a Jotform field to house the Salesforce Record ID to be updated, but I do not see the record ID as an available option to use to find the record to update.

    Hello,

    Thank you for reaching out.

You may select the record type after you have chosen the object (Lead/Contact/Account) you want Jotform to create.

    Would that solve your issue?

    Record Type =/ Record Id

Record Id's are the IDs to update the record itself without doing any find searches. Record Types are used to conditionally display different fields on a page layout.

I did not find an existing Salesforce integration on your form.

Have you tried checking the "Update if an existing record is found" option?

    Greetings,

I'm able to replicate the issue. The Record ID is not showing up as an option during integration setup. I'm escalating this to the Level 2 support so they can check this.

An ETA can not be provided right now, we will inform you here as soon as an update is available.

    Thanks

    Hello @Jon_Rublee,

When we investigate the issue, we figured out that it was due to missing data type support.

Could you tell us what the data type of the 'Record ID' field is so that we can investigate the issue further?

Thanks for your cooperation in advance

    Regards.

Its a text field, but its not one that you can update, can only be used to
    find records to update.

Is the datatype of the record id shows as "Text"? I would suggest you to please share a screenshot of the custom field type of the record id field, and we will take a look. The following guide should help you how to upload image in forum post: https://www.jotform.com/help/438-how-to-post-screenshots-to-our-support-forum

We will wait for your response.

Its not a custom field type, it is the most standard of salesforce fields,
it is the record ID. Just like there are Lead IDs, a Lead ID is a record
ID, just to the lead object.

Its not even available on the standard fields, i dont know how else to explain this, but a salesforce Record ID is the most basic of fields in a salesforce data structure. You cannot edit it, can only search for it and is used to directly reference the record that needs to be updated and is case sensitive.

Thank you for the added information.

It seems you're referring to the unique ID of a record in SalesForce.

    https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=000324087&type=1&mode=1

Currently, there is no option to view the record ID, however it is possible to get the owner ID and Parent account ID.

I will ask the assigned developer for updates.

Once we have further information, you will be notified at this support ticket.

Im not trying to view the record ID, I am trying to pass the SF record in
as a Jotform Hidden field so that jotform submissions know which SF record
    to update.

    Hi!

It's not possible to pull a specific record ID from SF and save it in a form field.

You don't need to pass a record ID to a form since the integration takes care of finding and update the proper record based on the selected criteria. Kindly refer to this user guide for the configuration steps.- https://www.jotform.com/help/1063-how-to-integrate-jotform-with-salesforce

I recommend you create a test record, integrated salesforce in one of your forms, and try submitting the form to see if it performs right for you.

I hope my answer is helpful.

Yes I am trying to utilize the find and update, but its pretty silly to not
allow us the ability to send a specific record to be updated. How would you
handle an instance of multiple records being found with the search criteria?

It's not likely for the integration to pull multiple records if the right criteria are used. Like on the screenshot below, the integration will look for the name and email address, and it will not return a duplicate because the email address will always be unique.

I believe you can test all that... Feel free to report it to us if you see a point that's not working. We will be glad to forward it to the developers so they can fix it.
