Would scheduled autoresponder send to new submissions?

If I modify the autoresponder that is set to be sent on a date in the future. Would everyone who has already signed up receive this autoresponder or would it default to just be sent to new submissions?

After making the change, the autoresponder would be sent only to new submissions and not to people who have already submitted the form previously.
