Mapping form results to unique identifiers in google sheets

I know that there is already an integration to map results to google sheets from a form. My question is, can I map set of form results to a specific row in the sheet based on a unique identifier in a column. For example, if the person filling out the form has a number that is a client number can that number be added to the form to replace information in a certain row that holds that number in a specific column?

    Hello,

It is possible as long as you let the user edit their submissions.

When you update a submission using the edit link, the data or information found in your "Submissions" page will also be updated, this includes the data in your Google Spreadsheet.

You actually do not need to create a special Unique Identifier as the integration takes the Submission ID as a unique identifier.

How does the form know it's the same person making edits to
their information and how would someone access their form to edit it again?
The reason I would want an identifier that is unique for each submission is
that I would want different people to be able to make changes to the row in
    the spreadsheet via the form.

    Hi,

You can allow users to edit the forms in your form settings, and with that setting, an edit link is sent to the users in the autoresponder email. When the user click on the edit link in the email, they will be forwarded to an edit instance of the form, thus JotForm will know to only update the submission, and not create a new one.

Can I confirm what exactly did you mean by wanting to different people to be able to edit the submissions through the form?

You can also edit the submissions from the Tables view. When you right click a submission, and choose Edit Entry, the edits will be automatically updated in Google Sheets as well.

Hopefully this helps. If this would not answer your question, please let us know so that we can assist you further.

I see this is helpful. I still have an issue with my use case, however. My
form includes a payment if you add items, so if someone fills it out once
and then edits it I'm not sure it will prompt them to be charged for the
CHANGES in the form or it will charge them for the previous purchases as
well a second time. I was maybe hoping to make another form that they could
use a unique identifier to add additional items for purchase to a row
somehow. This is the form in question:

    Hello,

Unfortunately, this behavior is not possible as we are limited by the payment processors and cannot edit the items.

    Thank you for your understanding.
