Displaying images submitted with form on my own website

    A form we are using has two images uploaded by the person filling out the form. I am successfully using the API to retrieve the submission data from our HIPAA account and display that in an application running on our own website. However, we also need to display these images, and this only works in a Chrome on Windows - all other browsers and Chrome on a Mac will not display these images, and I am pretty confident this is because the images are stored in your domain and not ours. I do not see an API for getting the image data itself, just the link to the image.

    Is there a way for me to retrieve and display images uploaded to jotform with a submission? An API I do not see, or do I need crossorigin credentials?

    Please note that submissions of HIPAA compliant form can only be viewed by form owner. That is the reason why you are not able to access uploaded files using URL.

    I would suggest you to please disable PHI for file upload field and see if that solves your problem. Please check the screenshot below:

    Hope this helps.

    No change. I can get other HIPAA protected information through the API and display that. Images display in Chrome on Windows, just not other browsers.

    Hi mcctelemed,

    Since your account is HIPAA enabled, you need to be logged in in order to see the uploaded images due to Privacy Settings that can be seen on your https://hipaa.jotform.com/myaccount/settings.

    This settings cannot be disabled on HIPAA accounts.

    You may do following;

    1. Get image link from API.
    2. Download the image with the link to your server.
    3. After that you can access the image from your local.

    Beside that, forcing this setting to HIPAA accounts is a security decision and cannot be lifted for your account specific.

    Please do let us know if you need further assistance on this matter.
