    Conditions Wizard

Asked by Dawn1066 on October 09, 2013 at 11:16 AM

    Hi there,

I have created an order form on which I am trying to add some Hide/Show conditions. It has been working ok previously but now the 'IF' select on the wizard is not showing all of the fields on the form, however, the 'THEN' select is working fine and showing all fields. I have cloned the form to play about with and it is still not working correctly http://form.jotformeu.com/form/32765296971367

Do you have any ideas how to fix or will I have to start again?

    Thanks,

    Dawn1066

Hello, I cloned your form and visited your defined conditions. What I noticed immediately is that when you click the IF there is a long scroll down but completely empty. This is because you have lots of textbox fields that do not have titles and with that, they show on the "IF" option as blank spaces.

Only fields, that can be changed, modified or requires input such as textboxes, drop-down boxes, dates, and anything that can be changed by your users will not appear on the "IF" option.

Static fields or objects such as images, headers, icons, or any texts that does not requires input or can not be changes by your users will usually not be shown on the "IF" fields because if you can't change something you can not put a condition-based setting on them.

Please see this illustration below to further understand it. You may click on it to view it on its original size.

If you need further assistance, please do let us know so that we can help you. Thanks

    Hello again,

The text boxes without field names can be selected by 'IF' and they work. It just isn't showing anything after that ie the dropdown at the bottom.

PS Thank you for your order LOL

You can tell me what kind of conditionals or what particular fields you want to show/hide. I will try to track down the problem and devise the exact conditions. After that I can give you the form in which you can clone and use immediately.

    Hi,

IF the last cost field 'is not empty' THEN show 'If your order is greater than 8 lines etc' plus for the last dropdown, IF dropdown equals 'My order is below £10.00' THEN hide 'Refer a friend etc'

This was working fine earlier today till I replaced a field with the dropdown.

    Thanks again.

Ok, everything is working now. Here is the form link in which you can test and clone the form

    http://form.jotformpro.com/form/32815439419965.

The reason about "Refer a friend" of why it was not working is because as you said earlier, you replaced the previous field with dropdown. This will effectively delink the previous condition and it was no longer executing because of the deleted field is missing.

About the reason on why "The 8 lines etc" was not working because it was disabled all along with the pause button. It will not be enabled until you delete the condition and start over.

If you encounter similar situations again in the future, it will help if you repeat the condition by deleting them and start over. If you need further help, please do not hesistate to post on this forum. Thank You!
