sending responder emails only to certain people

    Hi-

We are doing a holiday letter campaign for the residents of the local jail. We used one form to sign up and a second form to submit the letter. We have an autoresponder email set to go out to remind people to submit their letter before the deadline. Is there a way to set it up so that reminder goes only to the people who have NOT yet submitted their letter and not the people who already have? It would be preferable to automate this, but I would do a manual fix for those who have already submitted if necessary. Thanks very much.

    Hi Laura,

A direct option is not available but you can use conditional logic to create a workaround. A detailed explanation of the workaround is available in the ticket below.

You can skip any steps that are not required in your scenario. For example, enabling the "Send on Edit" option. As you are using two forms so this will not apply in your case.

Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

    Thanks

Thanks so much for your fast reply. I understand the underlying principles. The part I don't understand is how to base the conditions on information from a different form. Perhaps I set things up wrong from the start, but I have a "sign-up" form and a "submission" form. I want to send a reminder email to everyone who completed the sign up form, but has not uploaded something in the submission form. But, the conditions widget drop down only has fields from the "sign up" form- not the submission form where the information I want to condition on is stored.

How do I condition an autoresponder email from one form on the presence/absence of a field in another form?

    Thanks,

    Laura

    Hi,

If I understand your question properly, You would like to change which Autoresponder Email is sent based on the user's answers (conditions).

First, find the Unique Name of the Email field on your form:

    No, not quite.

I'm trying to send a reminder to people who signed up to do something in form A, but haven't done that thing yet in form B. So, the condition for sending the reminder is in a different form. Is this possible?

    thank you very much!

    Hi Laura,

Thank you for pointing out that you have 2 different forms: A and B.

The definition of autoresponder is to reply to the sender the moment Form A is submitted.

What you want to achieve is not something that can be done directly with an autoresponder. There is no such logical condition feature available currently in Jotform autoresponder to let Form A to respond base on the status of Form B.

I will send you more information if we have a new feature resembles your requirement in the future.

    Best,
