Dropbox Integration: Show the Dropbox link instead of JotForm when viewing uploaded content

I have a set of fairly complex intake forms to create and they have multiple uploads, most of which are graphics, possible videos and/or other PDFs or supporting documentation. When we use these on a project, there will be anywhere from 20 to 100 or more groups of people making submissions so it will turn into a LOT of uploaded content. For that reason I have gone through several different form builders online, and Jotform is hands down the best IMO.

However, when I make a submission, I am doing a couple things. 1) uploading all the content to Dropbox and 2) using Automate.io to create a Task on Teamwork so we can track the process. Seems to be working great BUT, the submission and the resulting email/PDF summary all show the Jotform link to the uploaded content. Technically, I don't really even want Jotform to store these documents as it will just create a situation where I'll have to go on and delete them leaving my Dropbox archive but I really need my report, especially the link that gets represented in Teamwork to be the Dropbox URL for the content and not the Jotform link. I'm happy to pay for the higher rate plan but I really don't want/or need the storage on Jotform. Is there a way to turn off that storage and force the report/summary to log the Dropbox link instead of (or along with) the Jotform url?

    Hello,

Could you check the Dropbox integration we have available and let us know if that would be suitable for your requirements?

I don't think you read my question. I’m already using that integration. The problem is that the email and PDF report include the JOTFORM URL for all the files that are uploaded as I described rather than the DROPBOX URL. So the purpose of putting the files on Dropbox is kind of pointless if the reporting references can't point to them. I would accept the fact that we have to go and delete the files from Jotform later to avoid going over our limit, but I'd really prefer to have the form capture and return the DROPBOX URL in the report (which should be pretty easy, since you already have the url to the folder it's going into and only need to append the file name to complete the url.

    Hello there,

    Thank you for contacting Support.

The Dropbox integration is useful for creating back-ups, but it can't pull download links from Dropbox.

So it's not possible to add Dropbox generated download links to your email alerts and PDFs I'm afraid.

Let us know if you have further questions.

I have seen others asking for this, and as someone who has done some programming it seems that the information and access required to capture that URL from dropbox should be accessible (eg if you have permission to save a file on dropbox you also have permission to see the file and return its path). Is this not something that the developers are considering to add? As I said, I’d still happily pay for the higher tier rate or an advanced integration rate but this seems like a very desirable function.

    Hi there!

Currently, we don't have this feature.

I am escalating this as a feature request to our development team. They will review it and notify you here on this thread once it is implemented. I can't give you an ETA when this is fixed.

Please note that all of your data on JotForm is secure. You can read more about JotForm security here: https://www.jotform.com/security/

    Regards.
