I need to delete custom Sender Email address. What will happen to the forms that are using this email address?

Hi, I am inquiring about changing a sending email address per this KB article. https://www.jotform.com/help/244-how-to-setup-smtp-for-a-form

I currently have some email addresses used on forms but that are not properly authenticated outgoing using our servers. If I delete these in order to recreate with SMTP auth, what will happen to any forms where they are used? We have a lot of forms, is there any way to get a report for all the forms/place we have used an existing outgoing address?

    Hello Jeff!

    - I currently have some email addresses used on forms but that are not properly authenticated outgoing using our servers. If I delete these in order to recreate with SMTP auth, what will happen to any forms where they are used?

If you delete an existing custom Sender Email; then all forms that were making use of that particular email address will default to noreply@jotform.com or noreply@formresponse.com as their Sender Email.

    - We have a lot of forms, is there any way to get a report for all the forms/place we have used an existing outgoing address?

Unfortunately, there isn't. You'll need to manually find this out.

Let us know if you have any further queries.

    Thank you!

If I add the same address only using the authenticated method can I then just change it within each of the forms where it is used without it causing any deletion and reverting to noreply@jotform.com?
    Looks like that might work?

    Hi Jeff,

Are you referring to a "Verified send email address"?

    https://www.jotform.com/help/238-how-to-add-a-custom-sender-address-to-an-email-alert

Yes it will work without causing any deletion and reverting to noreply@jotform.com

Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

    Thanks

Yes, we want to replace those Verified email addresses with the more properly authenticated and originating from our SMTP servers per this document:
    https://www.jotform.com/help/244-how-to-setup-smtp-for-a-form?if_id=244
And then the plan is to setup all the emails addreses per the above document, and then go through all the forms and change to the new SMTP one, before going back and deleting any of the old Verified addresses that are the same.
In this way, we will know that all of our outgoing mail with @hbsslaw.com suffix is coming from secure DMARC sources that we specify.
    Thanks, Jeff

    Hi Jeff,

JotForm does not have DMARC or SPF settings. However, when you are going to utilize SMTP to send your emails. This way it is ensured that the messages will pass the DMARC check. If you need our assistance at any stage then please let us know.

    Thanks
