How can I display only submissions that include a certain value?Asked by JasminChang on October 11, 2013 at 03:06 AM
Is there a way to display only submissions that have a certain value in a specific field?
For example, here is my jotform: http://jotform.co/form/32827415871863
I'd like to be able to isolate all the submissions that have a specific screening date and export them as an excel spreadsheet or PDF document.
What's the best way to do so?
I think this is similar to this: https://www.jotform.com/answers/278139
To hide empty fields, just click the submission settings icon then check "Auto Hide Empty Fields".
Thank you - however let me clarify my question. I don't want to hide specific fields, I'd like to hide specific submissions. To explain what I mean, under the cog settings, you can limit submissions by time frame so that only certain submissions show up. Similarly, I'd like to limit the submissions that show up based on the value in a certain field. i.e. I only want to export submissions that have "10/13/13" in the "screening date" field. Is that possible? What's the best way to do so?
If I understand your requirement correctly, you want to download submission records which has certain value in one of the column. Is that correct?
We have a search feature which you can use. It will be something very similar to your requirement but will search for texts in all column instead of one.
Here are the steps:
1. Go to "My Forms"
2. Select your form.
3. Click on "Submissions"
4. In the submission page scroll down to find the search box which is just below the submission grid:
Here you can write your desired text and the submissions will be filtered accordingly.
I am not sure how helpful it will be but according to me this is the best possible solution available currently.
Hope this helps.
I have a similar question, however when I do the steps provided, it is still exporting all submissions. How do I only export the submissions that show up after I clarify the "search" area?
I don't think you can do what you want in Jotform itself.
However if you have all the submissions in an Excel report you can use an Excel filter to view only those that match a specific criteria.
A slightly hackier way would be to sort the Exceel sheet based on the column you want, which would make it easy to then delete (or hide) the submissions you don't want.
