What does JotForm's license to a user's "made public" submissions mean?

Following is a paragraph from your terms and conditions.  Does this mean you claim the right to publish or distribute or otherwise make public the name, email address, phone number and other information a contact  might provide on the form?  If it does not mean that, please define what it does mean.  Further what does "make public" mean in the context of your "Terms" report below?

    Thank you for your response.

"When you make a Form, Submissions page or a Report "public", you grant Company a worldwide and fully sublicensable license to use, distribute, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, publicly perform, and publicly display your Forms and Submissions (in whole or in part) in any format or medium now known or later developed"

If you create a public report, that that means anybody who knows the URL of that public report can access that report.

New response receivedOK, I understand that, but, what about "submissions"?

Does that mean if someone completes the form with name, email address and phone number -- information that is intended only for use by our company -- JotForm then has a license to publish that information?

    Thank you.

    Hello sellfire,

That clause you have stated goes under number two (2) of the privacy policy statement.  The privacy policy states that:

    2. Submission Data. We respect the privacy of our users and the privacy of their client data. All user information contained within the forms you may use or build on the JotForm Site are governed by our Terms of Service. You retain all rights to your data. We will not sell, share data. We will not access your data for non-administrative reasons.

The terms of use may be confusing on some parts such as what you have brought up, but we do not publish the submissions that you received as just what I have stated.

You can know more about our privacy policy on this link: http://www.jotform.com/privacy

If you need further clarifications or if you have other questions or concerns, just let us know.

    Thanks and warm regards,

    Liyam
