Multi crop options - file uploader follow-up

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

I am familiar with the tool but the options you refer don't meet my expectations. What I mean with a multi-crop, which you have received some other inquiries I see in the past conversations for, is the ability to offer optional image crops that Uploadcare offers in their tool. According to them, the customer can upload an image first, and then choose one of the available formats that you can see in the screenshot below, which I took from Uploadcare's website.

As you can see there are free, 16:9, 4:3, 5:4, and 1:1 crop options for the uploader as well as a totally different look of the window compared to what you have in jotform.

The crop option that you offer is practically of NO logical use for any photo print companies: free form doesn't have an aspect ratio indicator, the customer cannot match the crop to a paper standard. Moreover, offering only one numerical crop which can be set in the crop width and height settings of your widget, cannot be dictated to the customer for the same reason. In the end, the customer has to match the crop to certain paper aspect ratios like 10x15 cm which is 2:3, 30x40 cm which is 3:4, 27x48 cm which is 16:9, etc. I cannot dictate a pre-defined aspect ratio for them.

I also read jotform's claims that this request is not very common. The reason might be that people give up right from the beginning and look for other solutions outside jotform. As I mentioned, the current widget is not a useful tool for people working with customer images and prints. There is a significant need in the market and it might be a huge business for you if you can offer the uploadcare's exact widget flexibility with the screenshot below, combined with your form. Unfortunately, I couldn't make the following CSS code work as advised by uploadcare:

    <input type="hidden" role="uploadcare-uploader" name="my_file"

    data-crop="free, 16:9, 4:3, 5:4, 1:1"

    />

Please kindly comment and involve your developer in the discussion with me.

    Thanks.

Hi, mgurtuna. Thank you for reaching support.

How can I add multi-crop option to the Uploadcare file uploader for customer images?

We have different options on the Uploadcare widget settings. Did you check if that can work for you? Here is a short gif showing this option.

Are you planning to upgrade the file uploader version to v3 as I suspect the current widget has the v2?

Actually, we do not have this information. This is regarding the development team. The developers will probably look to update the widget if it is on an old version; however, they may have other priorities at the moment.

Please, let us know if you need anything else.

    Best regards, 😀✨

If I understand your requirement correctly, you want the option to be available to the user to crop the image while uploading it right. Is that correct?

The code you have added in your question, is it shared by uploadcare support to be added in the form?

    <input type="hidden" role="uploadcare-uploader" name="my_file"

    data-crop="free, 16:9, 4:3, 5:4, 1:1"

    />

Please let us know, and we will escalate it to our backend team.

We will wait for your response.
