Asked by andypenn on October 18, 2013 at 12:54 PM

I have the form pretty much how it will end up but am still finding in tough to get my head around conditons  I have saved and printed all the adice you guys have given including the last post  , to which I have attempted to use as my guide but once again have hit a wall,  could you please advise me

to what field /s are the conditions applied on (I think the last example applies to the de employ/instruct feild)

in the example it says If De-employ/instruction is equal to de-employ and if select surveyor is equal to carrick show carrick

I cant seem to see where or how the "AND IF line come from

I have used the clone ,clone of form but feel that I may have upset some conditions that you corrected on my behalf and I am finding it hard to copy your example when the condition text is not the same . hopfully you will still be able to my end result text that I sent you .I would appreciate more advice

Hello, I will try to answer where the AND IF comes from.

Let us use the Condition 4 as an example. Select it to see its settings.

I will try to explain the sections:

    Here you have 2 sections:

    Rules and Actions

Rules are used by JotForm to conduct a check of the choices done by form user.

While Actions are the effect if should in case a Rule/Rules is/are met and it will do this or that.

If you have more than 1 Rule, JotForm gives you the option to set ALL or ANY of the conditions should be matched.

    e.g

IF dropdown box 1 field Is Equal To   De-Employ
AND dropdown box 2 field Is Equal To  Chris Hunt

Based on the image below we used ALL and it means ALL Rules must be true first before Action takes over. This will automatically put AND on the description

    e.g

IF dropdown box 1 field Is Equal To   De-Employ
OR dropdown box 2 field Is Equal To  Chris Hunt

Based on the image below if ANY of the above Rules are met even if only one of them is true then take Action. This will result of having OR instead of AND.

From the above image an Action has 2 parameters:

What to do? =Show or Hide

What to do on what? = Selected field(It could be labels, textbox, submit button almost anything that are present on your form.)

Show = will automatically hides the field selected from the beginning unless the Rules are met then it will show the selected field.

Hide = will automaticall show the field selected from the beginning unless the Rules are met and it will hide it.

This is the basics of the Conditions of JotForm.
