Is there an option to populate answers into an existing spreadsheet that I have created in google sheets?

It's safer to let the integration generate the spreadsheet for you. The integration needs the column headers on the spreadsheet to match the labels that are on the form.

If you mean, prepopulate your form using data from an existing spreadsheet, then yes. You can download the data to Excel, use the Spreadsheet to form widget to upload your spreadsheet to your form and use the values you have on the spreadsheet to prepopulate the fields.
