What is the maximum file size that you can upload in Jotform?

Asked by cookingwithus on May 31, 2011 at 03:34 PM

Just took and had a quick question, had a form or two on my site that allows people to upload files, and was wondering if there was an Upload size that Jotform had or if it depended on what the size my e-mail provider allowed? If someone could let me know also if it matters what the file extension is of the file someone uploads. Such as if you can upload any file extension through Jotform?

    Thanks Steve

    Hello Steve,

A user is allowed to upload up to a  maximum of 1GB per upload, while in the email, it only shows a link.  You also have complete control to what type of file extensions you wish to receive in your file upload field, and adjust the max file size that you wish to receive in the properties of the file upload field.

If you need further clarifications or if you have other questions or concerns, just let us know.

    Thanks,

    Liyam

    Hi,

1 GB is the maximum limit for upload fields, however, a free account only has 100MB of storage space which effectively renders the 1 GB limit useless (for free users, at least).

If you plan to use your forms for bigger uploads, you may want to consider upgrading to a Premium or a Professional plan. Take a look at our pricing page for more information.

So the free accounts are limited to a 100 meg upload correct?

    Hi Steve

That is correct but only if there are no other files taking up space: The total storage space allotted per Free account is 100 megs but let's say you already had files on the account totalling 10 megs. The biggest file you can upload, while those other files are still there, would be 90 megs.

Please let us know if you need additional clarification on this and please feel free to enquire about other features of our forms.

    Wayne,

So it is a 100 meg upload limit on the free account and yes that makes
sense if the 1 file is 10 meg then the files uploaded can only equal 90
meg. Now is that 100 meg per month OR 100 meg total and then I would have
to delete files from my Jot form account to make room for other files
uploaded VIA a form on my site?

    Hello Steve,

That's 100 MB in total.  So when it reaches or nears 100MB, you will have to delete your submissions that have file attachments.

    Warm regards,

    Liyam

OK one last question for now, not relating to the upload or file size, but
recently had noticed maybe it has been that way all along but just noticed
it lately.. Any how the question I had was when someone takes and fills out
1 of the forms that I have in particular after someone takes and fills the
form out I receive two emails for the same submission. I had taken and
changed a form around some what and had done a test form message to make
sure it was looking OK and had gotten "TWO" e-mails sent to me as on top of
the copy in my Jot Form account, any ideas??

    Hi Steve

Is the form in question named "Subscribe To Our Free Mailing List:"? The reason it's sending you duplicate notifications is because it has two notifications setup with the same information (except that the titles are different)

To solve the problem, delete one of them by clicking on the notification and then clicking the "Delete E-mail" button shown below:

Please let us know if this fixes things.
