    Minimum price in payment tool

Asked by bombshed on October 23, 2013 at 12:17 PM

    Hi,

I offer a man with a van service. I used jotform to create a couple of forms which I am very happy with.

The only thing I'm struggling with is that I have a minimum price of £15, £20 or £30 depending on the service. However, I can't include this in my form, which means customers can order from me for as little as £0.75. Is there any way for me to add a minimum price?

    Thanks,

    Lee

    Hello Lee,

Unfortunately, It is currently not possible to validate a minimum amount of purchase. You can still achieve it by downloading your form's source code and adding custom JavaScript code. Please be noted that if you use your form's source code, any changes you make in your form in editor will not reflect in your form. You will have to download your form's source code and add the custom JavaScript codes again.

Do let me know the calculation on which service has what minimum price and I will be happy to provide you a workaround.

We will wait for your response.

    Thank you!

Thank you for you quick response,

I'm not very confident with JavaScript. It's just trial and error (mostly error) for me. It would be amazing if you would provide me with a workaround.

If the client chooses 'self' in the 'loading time' option, I'd like the overall minimum price to be £15.
If they choose '1 man' in the 'loading time' option, it should be £20.
And if they choose '2 men', it should be £30.

    Thanks,

    Lee

Also, is it possible to round the price to the nearest £?

    Thanks,

    Lee

    Hello bombshed,

unfortunately such feature is not available within the form editor.  The only way to achieved this, would be to use your form source code and apply the neccesary custom javascript code to achieve the function you want.

If you need further assistance, do let us know. Thank you.

    Hello Lee,

I am not sure I have understood.

When loading time is self, you need the minimum price to be £15. Can we increase the Mileage and/or driving time so that overall minimum price is £15?

Or is it straight enough like this:

If "Loading Time" = "Self" and "Minute" x "£0.25 GBP" is less than £15.00

Simply change the total to display "Total £15.00 GBP"?

If the user changes the "Minutes" in loading time and the calculation shows £15.00 and above we do not show the minimum fare in the form. Will this be acceptable? I am asking because we cannot have a dynamic pricing in the form. That means we cannot alter the prices in woraround.

Another question I have is "Driving Time" and "Mileage". Calculation of these two is independent of "Loading Time"?

I will wait for your answer on the above points before I can start working on the workaround for your requirement.

    Thank you!

Sorry, it's difficult to explain. This is what I mean:

    If "Mileage" = "Miles" x "£0.25 GBP"
    + "Driving Time" = "1 Man" and "Minute" x "£0.25 GBP"
+ "Loading Time" = "Self" and "Minute" x "£0.25 GBP"
    = less than £15.00

Simply change the total to display "Total £15.00 GBP"

    If "Mileage" = "Miles" x "£0.25 GBP"
    + "Driving Time" = "1 Man" and "Minute" x "£0.25 GBP"
    + "Loading Time" = "1 Man" and "Minute" x "£0.3333 GBP"
    = less than £20.00

Simply change the total to display "Total £20.00 GBP"

    If "Mileage" = "Miles" x "£0.25 GBP"

    + "Driving Time" = "2 Men" and "Minute" x "£0.4167 GBP"
    + "Loading Time" = "2 Men" and "Minute" x "£0.50 GBP"
    = less than £30.00

Simply change the total to display "Total £30.00 GBP"

    Hello bombshed,

Thank you for the explanation. I will see if I can come up with some workaround for you. I cannot give you an ETA on this but I will surely take this on priority.

    Thank you!

I'm guessing they've decided against this. It's been on their customer wishlist for 3 years: http://www.jotform.com/answers/6932-Is-their-a-way-to-set-a-minimum-donation-amount

I'd love to see it implemented directly within the editor. Just another vote. Great service overall, though. Thanks, jotform!

    @jonsan32

Fisrt of all thanks for your good comments about our service.

Now, we would appreciate if you open a separate thread and post your feature request there so that we can forward your concern to our next level support. I think there must be good reason why they have not implemented this feature, however, we can send your request to them so that they can reconsider the implementations of this.

    Thanks for your comprehension
