Vallidate user input with list of numbers.Asked by Paul Galido on October 24, 2013 at 02:45 AM
Is there a way to create a product registration form which cross checks and validates from a list of serial numbers, so that if a serial number does not match, it rejects submission?
Unfortunately, our forms cannot be used to validate user input data with the any external sources or past submissions.
We have a unique question feature which reject duplicate/multiple submissions from user based. You can configure one of your form field to be a unique question (like email / phone number etc.) and any second submission with same email or phone number will be rejected. I do not think this will be useful in your requirement.
You can still achieve your requirement by taking advantage of your conditions feature where you can show hide form fields based on some conditions. You can match a textbox value with some texts by adding conditions and then show hide the submit button. I am not sure how helpful this feature will be for you because if the number of serial numbers are more it will be difficult to manage it in conditions. Moreover if someone views the source of your form, they will be able to view the list of serial number.
Hope this helps.
