Dynamic drop down from dropbox folders.

Asked by okstekniker on November 01, 2013 at 08:22 AM

Is it possible to populate a dynamic drop down list based on a folder strukture from dropbox?

    ex.
My form uploads files to dropbox.

In dropbox, all uploaded files is located under:
    Dropbox\JotForm\Presentation Upload Service\(event1), (event2), (event3)......

I want to populate a drop down menu based on the (event#) folder names.

So when I make a subfolder in dropbox, below Dropbox\JotForm\Presentation Upload Service\ , I want it to automaticly show up in the form, and if no suitable folder is located by the user, a new subfolder is created based on user input in form, and the files is uploaded to the new folder.

All (event#) folder will propably be populated with subfolders, and then again these folders is needed to populate another drop down meny.

Both Drop Down menus creates the file upload path.

    Is it possible?

    Thank you

    Frode M.

    Hi,

Unfortunately it is not possible to achieve what you are looking for using the form builder. At the moment there is no possibility to populate form fields from an external source.

If you still needs to accomplish that, you always have the option to download your form source code and modify it in order to fits your needs, in this case you will need to have programming knowledge or hire a developer to make this task.

    Hi Frode,

Sorry but this is far beyond Jotform's functionality. Also, the feature you're requesting seems a bit complicated on the Dropbox API so I'm afraid this can't be done. However, if we see many users requesting similar to this, we'll pass it to our developers for a review.

    Thank you!
