Send different responses based on selection

    Hi,

Re: 210304415948957 - Send different responses based on selection

After form is submitted, I want to send different response notices based on applicants selections.

    We have four (4) PDF files stored on a Google Drive. Assuming they are a member;

    • Wants to buy only Book 1 for $10, they would receive the link to that PDF file only.
    • Wants to buy only Book 2 & 3 for $20, they would receive the link to both PDF files only.
    • If they select the "Bonus" all four (4) for $25, they would get all four links, and so on.
    • Same logic holds true for non-members, only they pay more for the same books.

What is the best way to manage this, as there are a number of different options? Perhaps I could display different 'Thank You' pages for each option and if so just how?.

    Thank you, Best, Robert

    Hi Robert,

    Happy to help!

You could certainly direct people to different "Thank You" pages; however, you could also set up conditions to send different auto-responder emails to your respondents based on their selections using Conditional Logic.

Please allow me a little time to put together a potential solution for you for each instance, and I will update you via this thread as soon as possible.

    Thank you!

    Hi again Robert,

Thank you again for your patience as I put these potential solutions together for you. I made a clone of your form 210304415948957 for the purposes of this example. Here is my form if you'd like to test: https://form.jotform.com/210357115903953

The first option would be similar to what you had mentioned previously in redirecting your form respondents to different "Thank You" Pages. I see that you've already set conditions previously: this one would just be utilizing a different kind of condition.

First, we would select the condition to CHANGE "THANK YOU" PAGE:

    1612641201 601ef3b14f134 Screenshot 10

Then, you could select either to Redirect to URL after submission if you wanted to redirect the user to a page on your website for download:

    1612571826 601de4b245c87 Screenshot 21

Or, you could select to Display a custom message on submission:

    1612641261 601ef3ed98ed6 Screenshot 32

Based on their book selection/s (also as detailed above).

Our second option would be to send different AutoResponder emails to your respondents based on their book selection. First, though, we'll need to create the different Auto Responders. Let's create our first one for the first option of BOOK 1:

    1612641951 601ef69fd4855 addnewautorespo Screenshot 43

Then, we'll set the corresponding condition to send this email based on the respondent's selection. I will use the same VALUE field as in the example above. This time, however, we'll be selecting a different condition of CHANGE EMAIL RECIPIENT:

    1612641710 601ef5ae78426 Screenshot 54

Now, we will set the proper AutoResponder to send to the respondent based on their selection:

    1612642009 601ef6d93a92c Screenshot 65

Of course, this is the process for just the one option, so you would need to repeat it for each.

However, looking at my simple demo, does this seem like a viable solution for what you're looking for? I look forward to your response!

    Hi,

I think both options are good solutions.

The form has been modified so that the applicant cannot select a value higher the the bonus value. This makes the logic for one of your solutions a bit easier to manage. Eg. If they select more then two books the form resets, so they can then only select the bonus option and get all four.

Not sure if you want to clone again to work with me on this. We do not currently have access to the website code, so, I cannot insert it. What if I put the URL link, eg: Book 1 , into the redirect after submission, that should work, yes - no ?

    I apricate your help.

    Best Robert

    Hi again Robert,

    Always happy to help!

I've made another clone of your form 210304415948957 and can see the changes that you had made.

With this, the URL link should work in my first option: this might be the easiest way for you to redirect people to the options. So, you could input that link into the condition like so:

Then, when this option is selected, the form should redirect automatically.

    Hi again Katherine,

I have added all the Thank You pages I need, I think, with the correct links, I think.

May I ask you to review what I have done to verify that they are, or appear to be, correct. Having done so many, I may have messed up, it became a bit confusing. The links are to the files on the G-drive. To uncomplicate things, I combined files into zip files, so that there were not two links on some 'Thank You' pages.

Many, many thanks for your help.

    Very best, Robert

    Hi Robert,

It appears your form is missing Submit button. You may add Submit button from Form Elements > Basic.

In addition, it looks like Book 1, 2, 3, and 4 settings have been set up correctly. However, there is a missing custom Thank You page when the user selected All = $45, or perhaps is this intended?

If this is not intended, you may add a custom Thank You page by following the steps my colleague has provided before.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hi,

I have included missing element and Thank you notice now. I apricate you verifying my work. I will have some manages do some further testing. Then I will add an option for French language so it is bilingual.

    Very best, Robert
