    Hi!

How can I copy data from one column into another and delete the old column after copying the data into the new one? Or can I somehow merge the to columns to the new one?

Background: I had to change the the field in the questionier from number to short text, but like to have all data in the same (new) column and delete the old one. It is only 98 data I would like to copy.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

You can use the Duplicate with values option in the Column dropdown option.

It will duplicate the field/column with values next to the original field/column.

    Example:

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

    Hi!

Thanks. I do not need to duplicate a column. I need to copy data from one column into another existing column.

    Thanks!

    Hi ANWALTSLIEBLING,

Unfortunately, it's not possible to directly copy column Data without downloading it.

I have raised this to our development team as a feature request. We cannot provide an estimated time frame for the implementation; however, we will send you a message via this ticket once we receive an update.

    Thanks for letting me know!

What would be a solution than in case you change the form because you realized there is a mistake? Would that mean, you would have to setup the whole new if for example a report builder is connected? All data (new and old) would have to be in the same column to automatically generate the reports, would'nt they?

    Thanks!

    Hi ANWALTSLIEBLING,

You may clone your form and then use the combined app for your submissions.

    https://www.jotform.com/help/42-How-to-Clone-an-Existing-Form-from-a-URL

The best way to combine submissions from different forms is with the help of the "Combine Submissions" app. With the help of combined Submissions, you can easily combine data from different forms in one CSV file. The best part of this app is that you can select the fields from the forms you would like to include and then create a file.

    I hope this helps.
