    Hello Banjelister,

Thank you for contacting JotForm Support.

I have checked your account and I can see that you currently have HIPAA enabled. Please note that while it is possible to update the username of a HIPAA compliant account, it is not a recommended process if you have active forms as it can potentially cause you to lose data.

When you enable HIPAA compliance on your account your forms and submission data are encrypted and only the user credentials will be able to decrypt that data. Making changes to your credentials (i.e. username or email address) will no longer allow you to access the previously encrypted data.

The best way to work around this would be to download all existing submission data, then disable HIPAA, wait for our backend team to confirm that HIPAA has been disabled (you will receive a confirmation email after HIPAA is disabled), and then request to have your username changed by our support team. After the username is updated, you can then enable HIPAA once again and the new submissions will be decrypted with the new user credentials.

As this is can be a long process and can cause issues with your data, we do not recommend it.

Additionally, if you need to reset your account password, that can be done without any issues. Here is a helpful user guide - How-to-reset-jotform-account-password
