Google drive integration: Store data to an existing folder

I have a folder in my google drive, let's call it "Folder A". When I configure JotForm to store submissions to that folder, instead of storing to my existing "Folder A", it makes a new folder in my google drive, also called "Folder A", and stores to that instead. Please help me figure out how to configure it to store to my existing folder.

    Hi there,

Google drive does not restrict a folder by its name. Meaning you can create multiple folders with the same name. Our Google Drive integration is set up to create a new folder using your form name or any other name you set up. So it will not store the submissions in any existing folder instead it will create a new folder.

Let us know if you have any other concerns.

    Thanks

Thanks for your response. This and other significant limitations we’ve found in the google drive integration are kind of a dealbreaker for us in expanding our usage. Is there any plan to enhance this integration in the future? Or do you have any workarounds you can suggest?

We have an existing folder structure that we need to store into and remaking it would mean breaking a lot of links that we’ve distributed previously. In this context the inability to store to an existing folder feels akin to a bug.

    Thanks

    Hi there,

I understand your concerns. As a workaround, you can try the JotForm and Google Drive integration via Zapier. This integration gives an option to first find the folder and if it doesn't exist then it will create a new folder.

Here is the option at the final step.

Please try it and let us know if you have any questions.

    Hi,

Thanks for your response. Can this be accomplished in Zapier without multi-step Zaps which are an additional cost?

When I try to follow your recommendation, I am seeing how I can trigger a google drive folder to be created upon submission, but that's not helpful unless I can also actually store the submitted file into that new folder.

    Hi there,

Looks like this will require multiple-step Zaps. One to create or update a folder and the second to upload the file.

    Thanks

    Hi there,

For some reason, your reply didn't appear on this ticket. However, I did receive it in the email. For One Drive integration, I've created a new feature request. You can view it at the link below.
