I would like an approver to receive the form submission via email. In the event the form is not completed correctly or there is missing information, the approver can reject the form which sends the submitter an email with a link to then make amendments and re-submit the form.
Is this possible?

We have a workaround for that. Here's a guide: How to Add a Submissions Status
To send the user with an email containing the edit link when you reject the submission, use email conditions.
Before that, you have to create two notifications, 1 for approved and 1 for rejection. How to Setup Email Notification. For the edit notification, you have to include the EDIT Link URL of the form. Here's how:
