Privacy of the Forms and Data

My forms are set to public since I do not want people to have to sign into a JotForms account in order to complete them. I don't want any personal information associated with the forms, and it seems that making them public is the only way to achieve that.

I was reading the Terms and Conditions while in the process of signing up for a paid account, when I came across this line:

"When you make a Form, Submissions page or a Report “public”, you grant JotForm Inc. a worldwide and fully sublicensable license to use, distribute, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, publicly perform, and publicly display your Forms and Submissions (in whole or in part) in any format or medium now known or later developed. Submissions and Reports will only made public with your permission."

Please clarify this statement. It is true that JotForms will have access to all of my forms AND all of the submission/report data collected by those forms since the forms are classified as "public"? If so, is there any way to secure the submissions/report data collected by public forms to limit JotForms from being able to access it to use as it wishes in the future?

    Hello KB3186,

    Thanks for reaching us.

Everyone can fill/see your form if it is public. However, if you don't share your submissions (Reports/Tables/Inbox) as Public, no one will have access. Please consider the last sentence here: Submissions and Reports will only made public with your permission.

For example, here is a screenshot of the Tables' Share option. If you set your Tables as Public and embed it somewhere, everyone can access your data.

In the meantime, you can add some additional Privacy Settings to your form. You can set password protection to fill out the form. So that, only the people who have the password can fill the form. Here is the guide on How to Password Protect a Form.

Also, you can set encryption to your data. Here is the guide on Encrypted Forms and How to Use Them.
