Dropdown field is missing in the translation

    1. I’m also missing a regular dropdown field which needs to be fixed ASAP (not a widget, regular dropdown field – that means there’s an error in the translation function)

I have checked your form https://form.jotform.com/210314680958357 and you have some dropdown and long text fields that was not translated.

I have checked your form translation and it seems the entries was not translated.

Please translate the fields and let us know how it goes.

    This makes no sense.
A question is missing from the translation list.
A question from my from (a regular dropdown question) is not in the list of translatable questions. You can see this if you look at the form. This is an error. Someone needs to debug and figure out what the error is and then fix it.
I am not talking about missing translations (I understand how to translate the questions, it would be ridiculous of me to email you). (AND If the missing question suddenly shows up after I’ve translated everything that is very bad programming!) and if I go through all that work and still can’t translate the missing question (which is not in this list) I’ve wasted my time – because I will still have to redo the entire form on another system. I am not going to waste my time for you to test to see if that solves the problem. I need the missing regular dropdown question to appear in this list of translatable questions BEFORE I translate the rest of the questions.
Please let me know that you’ve understood my problem – I’m like one second away from cancelling and reviewing you with one star everywhere, I just don’t know what else to do to get someone to actually take my problem seriously. I’ve rarely been so frustrated – if you’d just let us actually call you I wouldn’T have to send a million emails before someone understands the problem.

My apologies for the confusion, I have checked your form https://form.jotform.com/210314680958357 and the dropdown fields and fields that are not translated at my end are :

    1613579264 602d4400e427d 1 Screenshot 21

In which the fields are showing in the translations however, they are not translated.

If you're referring to another field not showing in the translation or if the field is on another form, kindly share the field name and the Form URL so that we can check.

    Thank you.

Did you fix this issue? Because from my perspective the ticket HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED.

    @amandawichert

Sorry to hear that. I understand that your issue is about missing some regular dropdown fields on the translation.

I checked your live form but I couldn't find a dropdown that is not translated. I also cloned your form and check every dropdown and they are all available in the translation.

    Example:

    chrome PWiMRb6n20 Screenshot 10

    chrome SP4OUwgmmy Screenshot 21

Here's what I see in your live form when I changed the language to English. All the dropdowns are translated.

    chrome JJk86WJwJY Screenshot 32

If you don't mind, could you please check this again on your end? If the problem persists or if I have overlooked the dropdown field you're referring, can you mention at least one dropdown field that is missing in the translation for you? Or perhaps you're referring to the dropdown options? We would really appreciate more details so we could further investigate. So far as of checking, I couldn't replicate the problem on our end.

    Thanks for your cooperation.

Look, I’m really tired of this. Please fix all the open tickets. I just read on trustpilot that one of my open tickets has been escalated as a feature request, which makes me so angry that I cannot even think straight. I have three major issues open right now – an issue with radio button translations not propagating, an issue where part of my form is just randomly showing up as the technical field names, and the issue that someone is testing my forms and sending random answers to them. Also, half the widgets don’t translate, which isn’t a missing feature, it’s a bug (how on earth can you say you have a translation tool and not permit most question types to be translated?) and I have an issue where some of my clients are reporting an inability to generate PDFs. I had to create and recreate the dropdown fields multiple times before I could get them to show up in the translation tool (I have a whole very long ticket where I explained this). I’m just… at a loss to understand. It’s so frustrating. I have a bunch of open projects that I can’t move to another service provider right now because I don’t have the resources and because it’s wildly unprofessional (and one of my clients has actually developed an integration for jotforms which is just… I don’t know… how to tell them that you’re so unreliable that he wasted time and money programming the integration?) and the answers I’ve gotten have been so useless – gifs where people explain to me how to type in fields like I’ve never used a computer, or “clone the form” when it’s live – and I should be able to send a link to a live form without fearing that I’ll have to change the form in the middle of my project and look unprofessional to my client.
I don’t know what else to tell you. I need the open issues to be solved asap, not “we’ve escalated them but we have no idea if anyone will look at them”. I found tickets in your system that have been open for years, where people continually report the same thing over the years. I found one that’s been consistently reported for over six years! I worked in software development. I don’t expect a wonder product, I just expect it to work reliably. I use lots of other platforms for work – I reported a bug to Padlet yesterday and it was fixed within two hours and they apologized for the inconvenience it caused my client.

We completely understand your frustration and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.

I understand that you have a few issues and I see that they are handled into separate tickets to avoid confusion. I'd like to clarify that this specific ticket is about the missing dropdown field on the translation as per your statement so that's mainly where I based my reply. Unfortunately, we couldn't replicate this problem in your cloned form and even on your live form so if you're still experiencing a problem with the dropdown field missing on the translation, we kindly ask that you name the dropdown fields so we can have a look. Right, now, we just can't replicate the problem you have mentioned. I can only assume that it was temporary or a cache issue. I also cleared your form cache and hopefully, this will help.

Regarding the escalated ticket as a feature request, it will be handled here https://www.jotform.com/answers/2902233. It was escalated as a feature request because from what I can see, it is not yet currently supported and I hope you understand. Rest assured, once it implemented, you'll be updated through this ticket. Unfortunately, we can't provide any ETA on feature requests.

    Thanks for your understanding.
