am having the same issue. We use Paypal business to submit payments on our registration form. We do not have a personal account; We are a non-profit with a discount on our Paypal fees. If we switched to using Paypal Checkout, would it still go through our business account?

The issue I have am currently having is when someone chooses to not pay with registration (pay later/mail a check) it gives me that error message.

**I just tried using Paypal Checkout instead and it sent me an email saying that I need to set up an account. How do I fix the error using Paypal Business?

    Hi there,

    Happy to help!

Could you please send us the URL of your form in question? When you integrated with PayPal, did you use the PayPal Business integration?

I'm wondering what your PayPal account is classified as as you are a non-profit as well.

    We await your response.

    Hi again,

Thank you for providing the link to your form. As your account is HIPAA compliant, I am unable to log in to your account. However, I did make a clone of your form 210034348720041 in our HIPAA test account.

I see that you had utilized the PayPal Business integration: when you connect the integration does it say that it has successfully connected after you enter in your PayPal log in information?

I will need to investigate a little further. I await your response, and I will also need a little more time to investigate. I appreciate your patience and understanding in advance!

    Hi again,

Thank you for confirming again! And for the screenshots: these are most helpful.

After further review, I believe that the issue is due to as you had mentioned: when someone chooses to not pay with registration (pay later/mail a check) it gives me that error message. I apologize for not catching this earlier.

The amount in the payment field cannot be "$0" as the payment integration is built to accept payment immediately upon submission, or in the case of PayPal, to redirect the form to the PayPal payment upon submission.

If you would like to enable your respondents to pay later, I would suggest creating another form that utilizes our Purchase Order Payment Integration that will enable people to pay later or send through a cheque. Here's how-to-create-payment-form-with-purchase-order

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you for your help! Sadly, I will have to display a message regarding the error. The Purchase Order option would be great, except that those who choose to pay online are required to pay immediately. I considered using the Purchase Order option and if they choose to pay online, immediately send them to a payment form. However, doing that gives them the option to not immediately pay and back out of the payment form. Our policy is if they choose to pay, they have to submit payment with the form.

Thank you again for your help!

    Hello there,

Maybe something that could work for you is to use two payment methods (which is basically embedding forms inside the main form).

This way you could set-up a question with the choice how would like to pay and let them choose between the two options.

And depending on the option they click on, either PayPal will show, or the other one.

I don't know if my explanation makes it clear or if it would be suitable for you, so here is a guide that explains it better: https://www.jotform.com/help/182-how-to-create-a-basic-multiple-payment-form
