    Thank you for contacting us.

What version of Xara software do you use? Also, it seems that now you use Opera browser, do you get the same error in this browser?

We are looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hello Mike T

I was using Chrome and I could not drag the JotForm over to a blank page of
a copy of an existing page. JotForm would not open at all and I was told to
use Chrome or some other browsers.

I was then told by Xara support and I quote: "Xara uses IE to navigate to
widgets in the window, and must be installed for it to run and publish
properly (even if you don't use it). If you install and update it to IE 8,
does it then work for you?" I found this statement very strange, by the way,
as if it could not work with IE6 and I had Chrome installed it should have
    worked.

I then installed IE8 and this time I could drag the JotForm from the Design
Gallery over to both a new blank page of as well as a copy of an existing
web page from my new site. However, the navigation buttons would not work in
both instances. STUMPED. What can I do now? By the way I am using IE8 as my
internet browser and I have never used Opera ever (I never heard of this
browser until now). My operating system is Windows XP Professional with
Service Pack 3 loaded. It is up to date. My machine is a 32 bit so there
should not be a problem. I am using Xara Web Designer MX Premium 8.1.3.

I have even opened JotForm directly from their web site and followed their
instructions in designing the form I needed and also by embedding the form
into a placeholder in Xara. All I get is the little dots which are used to
drag and make the form bigger or smaller.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Ron

    Hello

    Let me clarify these things:

    1. We do recommend Chrome to get into our Form Builder platform so you can build your forms.

    2. However, the forms can be viewed in any browser platform

    3. Xara is a software that you install and run from your computer, if this application uses IE, that should be independent.

I assume that once you finish your site in XARA and insert the link to your JotForm, you proceed to upload it to your hosting server, and then is when you are not able to display the form. Am I correct?

May I know what is the version of XARA?

So far with got 2 guides on regards to XARA

    http://www.jotform.com/help/78-Adding-forms-to-Xara-6  (Xara v. 6)

This also contains a video at the end, which explains how to embed a form with Xara7

    http://www.jotform.com/help/175-Changing-Height-in-Xara-7

Please let us know and we will probably might need to make a new guide with updated information

    Cheers!

    Dear Jeanette

There appears to be some confusion. Maybe I did not explain myself
    correctkly.

I am using Xara Web Designer MX Premium which has a facility wherby one can
drag and drop JotForm into the site I am presently designing. When I tried
to drag and drop Jotform into the sight Xara would not allow it because IE6
was discontinued by Axara and I was told to use another browser. Well, I
tried this and that still didn't work. Here is what was told to to me (I
have copied and pasted the wording as it was given me):-
    * When I drag the JotForm to my Xara design
it says "Sorry, we do not support Internet Explorer 6 anymore.
In order to provide better service and keep up with the new technologies we
had to drop IE6 support. You should upgrade your browser to a newer version.
Internet Explorer has been deleted from my computer and I use Chrome????????

As a result of this I was advised by Xara support to download IE7 which I
did. I also made IE7 my default browser. Now when I drag and drop the
JotForm from the Xara Design Gallery to my page it now works up to this
stage, however, the JotForm Navigation buttons are frozen and I cannot
    design the form for publishing.?

At this stage the website that has been designed by me has NOT BEEN
PUBLISHED AS YET. I want to insert the forms and then I will publish the
    site.

IS THIS CORRECT OR MUST I PUBLISH THE WEBSITE AND THEN ADD THE FORMS LATER?
IF SO CAN YOU GUARANTEE THAT THIS WILL WORK.

Why I ask you this is because this new Xara site is going to replace another
website which is working and I would not like to replace a working website
with one that is corrupt. I will be out of my mind if this happened and will
take the necessary action which I would like to avoid. So, I ask you, to be
sure of what is recommended by your good offices.

The guides you recommend do not refer to Xara Web Designer MX Premium but to
Xara 6 and Xara 7. I have studied these two guides on You Tube and have
followed the instructions to the letter without success.

I have also tried by going directlty to the JotForm web site, registered
myself, designed a Form and tried to embed it into a PLACEHOLDER in Xara -
    this, too, didn't work.

    What do you suggest.
    Kind regards, Ron

    Hello Jeanette

A new development has come about. I have deleted Chrome from my computer seeing that Xara or JotForm cannot work with this browser. I am now using IE8.

I managed to design one Contact Form which is working fine in my new website. However when I tried to design a second form it gives me a problem in that the form can be dragged and dropped into Xara but will not show up in the site.

When I drag and drop the JotForm from the Xara Design Gallery (the JotForm Custom Form) to the page I want add the form to – this is what happens:-  It automatically opens the form that I designed online in the JotForm web site. I did this with the other page that is working.

I then click to Setup & Embed, then click on Embed Form – it then opens up in Xara with only the black dots that are used to increase and decrease the size. IT DOES NOT SHOW THE FORM AT ALL.

I cannot understand that it worked with the first Form and not the second when I followed the same procedure as before. I have even tried to reboot my machine but I get the same results.

By the way the Mouse-off funtion is OFF.

    Please advise.

    Kind regards, Ron

    Hi Ron,

Jotform should work for Chrome for as long as you have the latest versions of this browser. Can you try that instead of using the Xara Built-In Jotform Form Builder tool, access the Jotform website www.myjotform.com. Create and get the form embed codes from the website and paste it to Xara HTML Snippet editor.

We recommend the iFrame Method: Getting the Form iFrame Code.

Please follow this guide from Youtube for embedding external websites using an iFrame:

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks

Dear Welvin, I did exactly what you said. I did exaclty what was said in the video. All that happened was that I got a message across the middle of the page which stated: THE FORM WAS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE !

Here is the HTML Code I inserted into the Placeholder:

     <iframe id="JotFormIFrame" onload="window.parent.scrollTo(0,0)" allowtransparency="true" src="https://secure.jotform.co/form/33203652970855" frameborder="0" style="width:100%; height:992px; border:none;" scrolling="no"></iframe>

    <script type="text/javascript">window.handleIFrameMessage = function(e) {var args = e.data.split(":");var iframe = document.getElementById("JotFormIFrame");if (!iframe)return;switch (args[0]) {case "scrollIntoView":iframe.scrollIntoView();break;case "setHeight":iframe.style.height = args[1] + "px";break;}};if (window.addEventListener) {window.addEventListener("message", handleIFrameMessage, false);} else if (window.attachEvent) {window.attachEvent("onmessage", handleIFrameMessage);}</script>

It looks like we are moving in the right direction. What is the next step to get this working?

    Kind regards, Ron
