Promoting the direct link to my form on facebookAsked by CHCIcareer on November 18, 2013 at 12:09 PM
I love the potential of integrating jotform's into my website (specifically on my facebook page!)
I have created a form and integrated it into my facebook page. Here is a direct link to the form: http://on.fb.me/1fVJlHo
I utilize facebooks advertising platform, and am attempting to advertise this direct link to take someone to my form. It appears that when the link is clicked in the advertisement, it takes the user to my company's facebook homepage instead of the tab that was created for the jotform.
Should I be using a different link, or is there another way to advertise the direct link to my jotform on facebook?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Good day! I have the same issue before due to country restrictions, can you please check yours? I was able to see the App page using the link, not sure with the other locations. I'm from the Philippines.
Also, I was not able to see the form on the App page. What is your method of adding the form to your Facebook fan page? You can use our own App, get it here: http://apps.jotform.com/app/add_form_to_your_facebook_fan_page.
OR, use iFrame Host: Static HTML Tab for Facebook Pages
Then, you could use it like this: http://fb.com/DentalCareer?sk=app_190322544333196 or use Twitter FB URL shortener.
Thanks, Welvin. That will make it much easier. I had added the form to Facebook using static HTML. Unfortunately, the link to install the app is not working. https://www.facebook.com/4oh4.php
Is there another link I should try?
Thank you so much for your assistance.
It sounds like installing the jotform facebook app will be the best way for me to get my forms to be properly formatted in the most places.
Hopefully you can provide some insight why I cannot seem to locate the "jotform app". I attempted to follow your link, and I also tried going to the link for the app that is on the jotform website. Every time I click the link I am taken to https://www.facebook.com/4oh4.php , which states that the "page is not found". I have tried accessing from internet explorer and firefox.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
You must be referring to this facebook URL https://apps.facebook.com/jotform_simpleapp/ . And you were right, it is not available anymore. But the other guides provided by my colleagues should still work
And from what I understand on your original question, embedding the form to your facebook page is really not what you were after because I can see your form in your facebook page just fine.
Can you instead share to us the link you were trying to use to share your facebook form?
As you had mentioned, the link seems to be going to your facebook home page, and not the form itself(which was your original intention). I am thinking maybe the URL you are trying to use is not the right link.
Jonathan, you guys are great at responding to inquiries in a timely manner. It is very much appreciated.
Unfortunately, if you go to this link and try to get the app, it will also not work: http://apps.jotform.com/app/add_form_to_your_facebook_fan_page
For this reason, I currently have placed the form on facebook using the instructions provided for Static HTML. I am attempting to advertise the (shortened) direct link to my form on facebook. My ads appear on both the full and mobile versions of facebook, so the link should take users to a form that is optimized for computers and mobile devices. I have set the goal of the facebook campaign to be "website clicks", so I can track the number of times users click through to the advertised link.
Unfortunately, I do not see my own advertisements, so I am not able to test the live functionality of the link. The only way that I can test the functionality of the link is by selecting, "preview link" when creating or viewing the ad manager. When I preview the link, I am taken directly to the timeline for the facebook page, not directly to the form.
The link that I am advertising is http://on.fb.me/1fVJlHo.
Thank you again for your assistance!
Our pleasure to help you.
Thanks for letting us know about the error with the Facebook App. We'll check this further and get back to you for the possible resolution. The App provider may have not notice the issue.
Yes, please use the iFramehost App or the one from Thunderpeny which is currently on our guide: Adding-Form-to-Facebook. They should work.
The link is working. I am able to see the Form Tab when I click on it. Can you share to us the advertisement link instead? This way, we can do our own test on the advertisement link.
So I did create my own sample advertisement and when I click "Preview Link", I was able to navigate to the App Tab page. See sceenvideo here: http://screencast.com/t/PnXQGAmkgyT.
