Email receipt time after submission has been made.

Asked by cocnmp on June 08, 2011 at 12:35 PM

Hello, I have a few questions surrounding receiving an email after a submission has been made to jotform.

    1) What is the expected time period of receiving an email notification after a submission has been made to jotform?

    2) Are there any restrictions surrounding email which might delay a notification coming into my inbox?  ie: file upload size?

    3) Also are there any priorities associated with a paying account versus a free account, that is - is email ever delayed based on having a free account?

    thanks in advance!

    Hi,

I wish you have read my reply in the previous topic that you have created. I have answered question #1 on that thread.

Are there any restrictions surrounding email which might delay a notification coming into my inbox?  ie: file upload size?

No. There is none. File uploads are not attached in the notification email, so I don't see it being a contributing factor to the delay of a notification mail.

Also are there any priorities associated with a paying account versus a free account, that is - is email ever delayed based on having a free account?

No. Notification mails for free accounts are not deliberately delayed just because of its being free. Like I said in my reply on the other thread, notification mails are sent almost instantaneously. If you are consistenly having delay problems with notification mails, it is most likely your mail provider that is having issues, not ours.

To further investigate on your issue, I have created a test form on your account and then added my personal email address on the recipient email list.

I submitted on the form and within a few seconds, I received this notification email from Jotform.

Since your email address is also a receipient, you should have received the notification mail by now. Our mail server logs confirm that the email has already been sent:

ying: Jun 9 05:34:20 ying sm-mta[13845]: p599YBa6013843: to=<themayor@calgary.ca>, ctladdr=<jotform@ying.interlogy.com> (1001/1002), delay=00:00:08, xdelay=00:00:08, mailer=esmtp, pri=123342, relay=mail01.calgary.ca. Otherwise, there really is a problem with your mail service provider. I suggest that you check on them regarding the status of this issue.

The tests I have conducted assures you that the problem is not on our end.
