    Uploaded files links in email notification: how to?

    Asked by PyramidConsulting on November 24, 2013 at 10:12 PM

    It seems that it is possible to have the ulploaded links on email notifcations.

    Could you explain how to do this?

    If we upload one or mire assets attached to the form, how can I have the link to each document in the notification email?

    This is critical for the person who submit the form and the one you received it.

    Thanks a lot,

    Arnaud

    Hi Arnaud,

    File URLs are automatically generated on the server side. When you upload files to your form, the uploaded file URLs can be seen both on your form submissions page or in your email notification that is sent to your email. Your upload field tag e.g. {selectfile} will be replaced with the file URLs once the notification is fired out.

    Example email notification.

    If this is not what you mean, kindly explain it further. Thank you!

    @PyramidConsulting

    No, you don't need to add them manually, that might lead to an incorrect field tag. Each fields have unique field tags, you can find them on the right side bar under Form Fields when you are on the Notification Wizard - Compose Email Window. Check the following screen for a guide:

    The tag {selectfile} or {selectA} do not work in my form.

    The form include a Uplaod file action with allow multi file active.

    The E-mail list the cell table but it stay empty.

    I re-create the field (Assets), check the tag in the email notification setings but nothing changed. The E-mail still have an epmty field).

    If I try from a new basic form it works.

    Somehting wrong with my current form?

    @PyramidConsulting

    I can see you've recreated the upload field. I checked your notification and it has the correct upload field tag {assets}. I tested it here and was able to see the file links on email notification.

    However, your form autoresponder has incorrect upload field tag. Kindly review.

    Regarding on the email field, may we know which field is it? Is it the AM e-mail field? I think the best way to resolved all this is to recreate your email notification to regenerate all the correct field tags.
