    Submissions Verifier app - How can I get notification emails when someone clicks the verification link?

    Asked by CecilevdM on November 28, 2013 at 03:38 AM

    Hi,

    I am using the submissions verifier app to verify the student's email addresses. I have a hidden field in my form "Confirmed?" that changes to "YES" once they click on the verification link. Is it possible t receive an email with a PDF of each submission but only if they clicked on the link to verify their email addresses?

    Thanks

    Hi,

    I think that's possible with adding the Conditional Logic to your form, especially, the Send Email After Submission Condition.

    You will use the hidden field, that if the field is filled, send the email to you. Here's the conditional logic for example:

    This is the base guide: Send Form Notification Base on a Field Selection. Step 4, should be the one from the above screenshot. So, if they will click the link to verify the submission, your will receive the email. If not, that means, they never verify the submission.

    Of course, you should add the PDF Link to your Notification Email settings so to get the PDF of each of your form submission, see screenshot:

    Let us know if you need further assistance implementing this function.

    Thanks

    I forgot to mention that you should add a notification email settings to your form, here's a guide: Setting Up Email Notifications then use this settings to the conditional logic.

    Thanks

    I have tried to do this, but with the submissions verifier app the form only changes the "Confirmed?" field after its been submitted and they clicked on the link. So even if they click on the link I don't get a confirmation email. Is there a way to work around this? Thanks for the help!

    @CecilevdM

    Sorry but I found no way to achieve this. The submissions verifier app has its own notification email which unfortunately not available for editing so there's no way to acheive what you want.

    A workaround here is to include a PDF URL on your form as a field so that when you received the verified email, you can click on the submissions link and manually download the PDF file. Somehow this would help.

    Example: https://www.jotform.com/submission/251520966841144488 (see PDF URL)

    Here's how:

    URL: https://www.jotform.com/pdf-submission/{id}

    Thanks!

    I did this, but when I try to open that PDF link it just opens a PDF folder with an error message in it.

    "Error

    We couldn't find the submission you are looking for on our servers".

    Thanks a lot for the help!!

    @CecilevdM

    I tried Elton's suggestion and I was able to reproduce the issue you describe, when I tried to open the PDf file I got this error:

    However, I found that using the {pdf-link} tag instead will work:

    And the pdf file opened with no issues:

    So, you could try using this method instead. If you need further assistance with this please let us know.
