Validation issues on the Multiple Upload fields

Asked by mrhandrail on December 02, 2013 at 03:01 PM

    Hi There,

We use a service called Zapier.com to access our submissions using the jotform API. Lately we had a submission that shows correctly on the jotform website (form inbox after we login) BUT... when accessing that record via the API we get the value {"total":"0.00"} as the value for the last name field.

A screenshot is attached showing the submission ID (251820693381538446) and value we received. Is this a bug with jotform? Did we set something up incorrectly here? Any help would be appreciated. The submission in question came in at  12/02/2013 11:16:03.

    Thanks for your help,

    - Andrew

    Hi There,

Another thing we discovered with this particular submission (ID: 251820693381538446) is that the email alert that came in listed an image name (which was apparently uploaded) but the API and the jotform website do not show the image as ever being there. The image name that came through was P1000362.JPG but it did not have the usual link to view the file, just the name only.

Let me know if you find anything.

    Thanks,

    - Andrew

    Thank you for contacting us.

I have found that we have a validation bug on the Multiple Upload tool. It is currently not showing warnings for size overlimit uploads and incorrect extensions.

I believe that your user tried to upload an image larger than 2MB, and instead of showing the warning, form accepted submission. That is why the submission in question has incorrect structure.

I would like to recommend you to increase the Max File Size from 2MB and/or switch to the Single Upload tools. The validations are fine on the Single Upload fields.

Now I am escalating the validation issue to our Development Team. We will keep you updated.

If you can reproduce the {"total":"0.00"} response on other submissions, please let us know.

    Hi There,
I never heard back on this issue. Did we ever find out if the Development
    Team will be fixing this?
We are still experiencing the issue. Hopefully it will be minimized moving
forward as we have taken your advice of increasing the file size limit.
Let me know the status when you have a chance.
    Thanks!

We are sorry for the delay. The ticket is still open, but we do not have any other updates at this time. It is definitely going to be fixed at some point, but I can not provide any ETA at this time.
