I'm looking to use the source code option for my autoresponder email.

    Hi,

I'm looking to use the source code option for my autoresponder email, but I'm not sure how I can integrate the piping into that?

e.g. I want to use a third party code, but I need to get the 'name' and 'product' selections in the autoresponder email. Is that possible?

Source code is not possible in autoresponse body due to security issues. There are some HTML codes that are accepted, but is only limited to a few.

May I know what 3rd party code are you trying to inject into your autoresponse email?

    Hey,

I'm looking at perhaps MailChimp, but would be happy to use anything that you recommend...? I was just hoping for a bit more sophisticated emails than the jotform standard.

    Hi Wcunliffe,

This feature will just attach a file to your autoresponders. It can not replace Mailchimp. However, you can use Jotform as a simple email campaign solution.

You will be able to send an automated reply to your users right after they submit the form. Then you can send a follow-up e-mail after 7 days. Then you can send another e-mail after two weeks. Here is the guide:

    https://www.jotform.com/help/451-Spice-up-Your-Email-Campaigns-with-Autoresponders

Please give it a try and let us know if it works for you and you can replace Mailchimp with our email campaign solution.

So I want to use 3rd party source code as the emails from Jotform don't seem to be very dynamic. I've done a test in a clone form, and the only bit I'm having trouble with is piping in the specific information for that order, e.g. {name}.

    The test I've done is : https://eu.jotform.com/build/210934547149359/settings/emails

Hopefully you can see where I've tried to add '{name}' to the code so the name is specific to each order, but this doesn't seem to work when I test the order form. Can you troubleshoot?

    Thanks

    Hello,

I have cloned and tested your form and it seems that the Name is displaying correctly.

    Screenshot:

    1617560920_606a055850e5d_

After that, I tried to change the code and it seems ok on my side:1617561049_606a05d9bfaf0_

I increased padding and changed the color of my test form. Don't worry - it won't affect your form.

Please, could you elaborate more about your problem?

    Thanks!

    Alex

    Hey,

Sorry I'm not sure the question was clear- I made a clone form here to do my tests :https://eu.jotform.com/build/210934547149359/settings/emails

I've tried to pipe {name} into the clone, but it doesn't seem to work when I test?

I don't think I saved the changes last time but I have done now!

    Hey,

I've just done another 'test' email and it still came through with {name}, and not my actual name? Is this because I didn't put my name in on the form (as it's a test email)?

    Thanks

    Hello Wcunliffe,

You need to fill out the name field so that it would show on the email.

I have cloned and tested your form and was able to see the name filled out.

    Hi,

I think you may be looking at the wrong form? Here is the clone that I made that I am doing my edits/testing on:

    https://eu.jotform.com/build/210934547149359/settings/emails

Please see the form below- I've just tested it again and the {name} still doesn't work?

    Hey,

I've tried that and no luck again- I think it's because I'm not adding a name in anywhere as I'm not technically completing the form, just sending a 'test'.

Where does your result above get the 'Sam Test' from? Are you actually completing the form, instead of sending a test email?

    Thanks for the support.

I assume you are simply clicking the Test Email button. If yes, please note that since you have not filled out the form, then there's no data to replace the placeholder.

To properly test your form, please make a test submission.

    Hello,

It seems that my colleagues' test submission is made through their cloned form in which Paypal is in Sandbox mode.

There are two methods to test Paypal on your form:

    1) Test by making an actual payment - create a test product in your PayPal payment field with a 0.01 USD price.

    2)  Test through PayPal Sandbox Mode - you need to secure a PayPal Sandbox Test Account, through the developer's dashboard:  https://developer.paypal.com/.

    Here's the detailed guide: How-to-test-your-Paypal-payment-form

    I hope this helps.

That is really really useful, thanks!

The last thing (hopefully) I need help with is that some of the images in my email don't seem to be pulling through, and instead just an icon box shows. Can you help with that at all? I'm still learning basic coding!

If you can see there is an image labelled 'Facebook' in the source code, and on the email itself the image doesn't pull through and an icon is in its place. I tried to put the link to the image below into the source code, but it doesn't seem to have worked.

Hello! In the source code of your autorespoder, I didn't find any image code (screenshot attached below). Did you remove it?

    1617624725_606afe95586ad_The Easiest sdF

Also, you can't add images directly from GDrive. GDrive doesn't return the image's MIME type. You'll need to upload this image somewhere else and then use its path.

Or you can first upload this image to any of your forms at Jotform (using the image element); copy its path and then use that path in your img code. You can then delete the image element form your form; the image path will still work.

I hope this helps. In case I missed anything or if you have further queries, feel free to get back to us.

    Thank you!

Sorry I'm using my cloned order form for all of the above:

    https://eu.jotform.com/build/210942674708360

I've fixed the images (thanks), but the issue now is when i place an order and get the email confirmation the formatting of the form doesn't seem to work. In my prior version, if someone selected 'Collection' for example (and therefore the option for 'address' disappears on the form) they wouldn't get the 'Delivery' or 'Address' boxes in the email confirmation, but this seems to happen now, as per the screenshot below.

So the two are options are:

    1) the formatting-as you can see the grey boxes extend over the side of the email, and this looks even for on phone.

    2) that categories such as address/phone appear in the email confirmation even when that information isn't inputted by the customer. This was not the case in my previous order form (https://eu.jotform.com/build/203144284377355) where if an option was not selected/inputted, that information wouldn't appear in the order confirmation.

    Thanks!

    Hello Wcunliffe,

To edit the width of the table, just click anywhere inside your email content and a table option would pop out then select table properties.

    53664_1.png

Now you can edit the width, cell spacing, and other options in your table.

    53665_1.png

You may enable Hide empty fields in your email settings to hide empty/no data fields.

    I hope this helps.

    Hey,

I'm not sure you've understood the question, I'm not using Jotform tables but instead source code. My form is : https://eu.jotform.com/build/210934547149359/settings/emails

The hide empty fields option is on, but doesn't seem to work- Could you please test the form and check for yourself?

    Thanks

    Hi,

thank you for reaching out to us. I have checked this and was able to replicate this.

The Address and Phone labels appear because these are static text that you have typed in. If you only want this information to appear when the field is filled, please remove the labels and only leave the "{address}" and "{phone}" components.

    1617635926_606b2a568f102_

The part that extends over the side seems to be an extra row in your table that you can delete in the editor:

I hope this helps, please let us know if you have further questions.

    Hi,

I think that maybe an error has occurred from your side, as now I am unable to even edit the source code on the email settings for the form above. When I click into the autoresponder email I can't even preview the email, the page seems to freeze- I've tried this on different devices/browsers and have tried logging in/out and incognito.

    Can you please fix?
