When submitting files to my dropbox form, is it uploading the files twice?

Do my files get uploaded to the jotform server and then get uploaded again to dropbox?

    Hi,

    The answer is YES.

There is a copy of the uploaded file in JotForm server and as well as to your Dropbox account.

You can easily find this out because, if you go to the form's submissions page you will be able to see your uploaded file in the submissions -- this is the copy in JotForm server.

If your objective is to retain alloted storage space, you can delete the submissions with uploaded files/data since it has a copy already on your Dropbox account.

BUT be warned: DELETED submissions will be permanently gone and cannnot be restored.
So, be careful when deleting data.

    Thanks.

My issue is not whether or not I retain what is uploaded.  I am looking at it from a time and a chance of error point of view.  My company has vendors who uploads thousands of pictures a day.  If every time they upload they are going to have to waste the time and chance of error uploading everything twice, that seems inefficient.  I was wanting to use jotform strictly for the form uses of it, and have the files uploaded on the form go directly into the Dropbox.  Am I looking at this incorreclty or is this possible?  Thank you.

    Thanks for explanation.

From my understanding, you don't want your form users to waste their time uploading the files twice, to Jotform and to Dropbox. Is that correct?

If so, let me inform you that your form users won't need to upload the files twice to get them stored in Jotform and Dropbox. All they need to do is to upload the file only once from your form and then when they submit the form the uploaded file will be automatically sent to Jotform server and to Dropbox at the same time. That's the way it works. So, as you can see they will not need to upload the files a second time so that it is store in Dropbox too.

I hope this helps. Please inform us if you need further assistance with this.

    Thaks
