    Required Fields

Asked by cheph88 on December 13, 2013 at 03:59 AM

    Hi There

    Following on from another thread.....

I have been having problems with "submitting" my form returning errors.

Bascially my understanding of the final answer I recieved was....

The required fields (only some questions were set to this = the important ones) were the problem.

My form could only be used in the basic default format and

either have all fields set as required

    or none at all

I am asking for clarification please, as it sort of defeats the purpose of certain important information sharing  requirements that shouldn't  be missed / skipped out of this form, which is the practise happening with a current Office document form we have in use.

I hope I have misunderstood the answer :)

    Look forward to your answer

I guess this is the thread you are talking about: http://www.jotform.com/answers/301344

As you can see, my colleague (Welvin) found that the issue happenes when the fields are set as required and the issue disappears when disabling the required validation function.

You can set your fields as required even if you are not using the default form format so that form submitter cannot leave questions empty, however, it could be that some conflict is happening between the format/style you have given to your form and the Required validation function, that's why my collegue suggested to create the form with the default formatting, so that you can avoid any issues like this when using the Required validation funciton.

So, you just need to create your form and leave the default format of it.

I hope this helps. Please inform us if you need further assistance.
