    Form Formatting issues on iPhone

    Asked by artevolve on December 19, 2013 at 04:59 AM

    Hi

    Sorry to bother you - I am having problems with my form can you please help.

    1 Form appears fine on desktop but is oversized (too long) on mobile

    2 The small text "First Name" and "Last name" is too dark and cant be easily read - can you make it white

    3 The phone number box wont allow me to insert all 11 digits and I dont like the formatting ie hyphens and brackets

    4 The submit button is too large - can you make the same size height as a single box eg the "eMail" box

    5 Can you adjust the freetype box so that they HAVE to write something

    Thanks for the great support and a great product!

    Best wishes

    Raj

    Thanks for these suggestions. We will look into these issues on iphone. I opened a ticket about it.

    For the time being, if this is causing problems with your site users you might want to try different themes. Maybe they will work out better.

    Hi
    I would be grateful for a fix to my problems. I'm not sure what you mean by themes - are you talking about the website or the form?

    Hello. Thanks for replying back. No. The "theme" being mentioned by our Founder is related to the Form theme and not your website Theme.

    You can find it when you edit your form from the Form Builder

    For more information, please refer to Quick Overview of Form Themes. Let us know if that works for you. Thanks

    Hi Can you lease clarify what you mean by "this issue has already been addresses" as I have just checked the form and cannot see any changes have been made eg the "first Nane" and "Last name " issue is still there. Please advise me as soon as possible what is occurring as more than 24 hours have passed since I raised the issue. Thank you

    Hello, we apologize for the confusion. My Support Manager was trying to explain the we already opened a ticket to our developrs for this issue. Rest assured that you will be updated on this thread for any progress concerning the issue. Please stay tuned.

    For the meantime, you may choose to use your current iframe embed code with this iframe embed code:

     <iframe id="JotFormIFrame" onload="window.parent.scrollTo(0,0)" allowtransparency="true" src="https://secure.jotformeu.com/form/31145475877362" frameborder="0" style="width:100%; height:300px; border:none;" scrolling="no"></iframe>

    I disregarded and removed the generated autoheight script and retain only the iframe embed code. I adjusted the height to your current webpage footer height. This should lessen the height in Safari iOS devices as I am seeing the same issue on my iPod touch. However, the drawback on this is that on desktop when you trigger the Required fields and left it empty, it pushes the submit button down.

    As for the submit button even if you lessen the iframe height, the submit button is a little bit bigger on the height. You may fix that by inserting a custom CSS code using this:

    @media screen and (max-device-width: 480px) {
    .form-submit-button{
    height: 28px !Important;
    line-height:2px !Important;}
    }

    Please refer to this user guide on Inserting Custom CSS Code. Let us know if this solution has fixed the issue. Thanks

    Hi
    I have been trying to resolve this problem now for over a week and I am making very blittle progress in fact the recent changes you suggested seem to have made matters worse - ie the form is even longer than before and the phone number now expects 12 digits as opposed to the 10 it was only accepting previously!
    I have tried the following copied and pasted the following into the code and ADDED to code generated by jotform
    I then injected the following CSS code as described in the link you sent
    The overall code is therefore this:

    FULL NAME*

    First Name

    Last Name

    eMAIL*

    PHONE NUMBER*

    APPOINTMENT, CALLBACK REQUEST, NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIPTION etc

    Submit

    Should be Empty:

    Unfortunately still does not work ie the form is even LONGER now. Also the phone Number field forces you to insert 12 digits not 11 as it should do.
    Please can you help as so far things are getting worse and I am receiving complaints from customers
    You can see the problem here
    http://www.podchiropody.co.uk/shop.html
    Please note the height form MUST fit between the grey Contact box and the bottom of the footer. I do not mind if the "required" fields cause the form to extend as long as the submit button can be accessed at the end of completing the form so it can still be submitted.
    Thank you

    We apologize for the inconveniences this may have caused you.

    Now, the Phone Number field, now requires 12 Digits because of the Mask Value you have set for that textbox field:

    So, you need to change that property so that it works as you wish. Now, this issue has been forwarded to our dev team, but in the mean time please give us some time so that we can look for the right code to make your form works as you need. So, just to confirm, is this the site where your form is not working correctly on iPhone?  http://www.podchiropody.co.uk/chiropodist_leicester.html

    Or is this one: http://www.podchiropody.co.uk/shop.html

    Please let us know so that we can have a reference to know how the form needs to work.

    Thanks

    Hi again Raj,

    After working on your form I found the right CSS code to fix your form embeded in this website http://www.podchiropody.co.uk/shop.html

    I cloned your form to make the changes, here is my form: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/33646329768973

    It looks this way when testing it on desktop:

    And it look this way while testing it on iPhone simulator:

    I recommend you to clone my form and embed it to your website, and test it using iPhone. It will reveal if it the code I use is the correct one.

    The whole CSS code I injected to the form is in this link: http://pastiebin.com/52c3570b5b34a

    I recommend you to better clone my form and do not inject the code to yours, that will avoid to affect your form in case my CSS code does not work in your end. Here is how to clone the form: How to clone an existing form from a URL

    Please inform us if that works or if you need further assistance.

    Thanks

    Hi
    Thank you the sizing is perfect - thankyou very much; unfortunately my problem with the telephone number is STILL unresolved - I have mentioned this at least 3 times! The field only accepts 10 digits NOT 11 as is the standard please can you fix this. I have imported the code so you may just want to modify the code in the browser - I will let you decide what is best; a new clone may be just as easy?
    Also the submission emails now have a new title!:
    New submission: Clone of Form Formatting issues on iPhone
    Can you change the new form to something like "New Submission: Pod enquiry"
    Thnak you for the great help - almost there
    Kind regards and best wishes for 2014

    Thanks for the confirmation.

    My cloned form still have the fixed code that I suggested you, here it is: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/33646329768973

    You can simply clone it and use that one, so that you do not need to waste more time. Here is how to clone it: How to clone an existing form from a URL

    I will check your form later on, but the most recommended is to clone my form as it could be hard to find where the code got messed up.

    Inform us if you need further help.
