Question concerning the Unique ID?

    Question concerning the Unique ID?

    1. I have created a review form with a Unique ID.
    2. I have created a Response form for the "Reviewee" to respond to the inital review.
    3. I would like to "link" or somehow attach the Response Form to the initial Review so that the Responder can see what they are responding to while completing their Response form. Hopefully you can follow that!

    Please be gentle, I did search the forum for a similar question/answer but did not find one or did NOT understand if I did find it!

    Thanks for asking. Fortunately, from the domain in your email address, I was able to determine that you would only be dealing with thirteen establishments, making the method I have in mind practical. Basically, it involves setting up conditions on the review form where if a particular restaurant is selected from a dropdown, a notification containing the review and its unique ID is emailed to that restaurant. Conversely, the response form would have a dropdown containing the names (preferably pseudonyms) of all of the reviewers. Using conditional logic, a reply would be sent to the email address of the reviewer selected in that field. The response form will also have a field in which the reviewee must enter the unique ID she would have received in the review notification.

    Additionally, our product's conditional logic feature also affords you the convenience of having just one review form to deal with take-outs, dine-ins, Pensylvania and Florida! 

    Would such a system suit your purposes? If it will, later I will post links here to a sample review form and its related response form.

    OK. Trying this again.

    My Dine-In & Take-Out forms have Unique ID fields. Completion of these forms will generate a Submission ID.

    Can these forms be found by entering either the Unique ID or Submission ID on a form like a Contact Form?

    Can there be a link, like on a Contact Form, which upon entering the restaurant's name or review event date will connect to the review by either the Review Form's Unique ID or Submisssion ID?


    1. A restaurant comes to my page and wants to respond to a review.

    2. They enter basic info and then their restaurant name.

    3. An email is sent to them (email is provided by them on the Contact Form) with the Response Form password and the unique ID or Submission ID of the Review they want to respond to, BASED UPON THE RESTAURANT NAME or REVIEW EVENT DATE. There will only be one review and one response but I will not know which restaurant is requesting a Response, so connecting the Review to either Restaurant name or Review Event Date is important to filter the restaurant's request.

    4. After receiving the email, they come back to my website, enter paswword and/or one of the following: Restaurant Name, Review Event Date, Unique ID or Submission ID.

    5. I can then present both the Response form AND the Review on the same page.

    If this is doable, I would greatly appreciate your help! I just can't seem to find how to filter the forms to connect to the appropriate response/review

    I don't want the Response to edit the original review. I just want the Responder to have the appropriate Review in front of them while Responding. Does this make sense?

    Hi Jerry,

    I apologize for the long delay in response. I have been trying to figure out what exactly it is that you want to accomplish and how to provide a workaround to that for a couple of days now.

    The more I think about it, the less I feel that Jotform has the capability to do this for you. It appears that what you're trying to do can only be implemented using a full web application. Although Jotform has a few advanced features in its arsenal, it will just fall short in trying to mimic something that is actually not.

    I am sure that there are many web applications that could help you implement this idea that you have. Try searching for keywords such as "review script". Good luck in finding the solution that you want.
