JotForm file upload failing for larger files - This is old news

    Hello,

I'm having problems with getting my forms to accept larger files (115mb and larger). I'm getting "failed upload" message for any files over 100mb.

max size set to: 1048576kb (1GB)

    single file upload only

    all extensions accepted

    secure form "off"

    or

    http://form.jotform.co/form/33537489908874

    results:

    115mb Tif file upload

Chrome to JotForm - fail (3 attempts)

Explorer  to JotForm - fail (3 attempts)

Firefox  to JotForm - fail (3 attempts)

Chrome to Wetransfer.com - sucess (1min 47sec total upload time)

Chrome to Google Drive - sucess (1min 47sec total upload time)

    75mb Tif file upload

Chrome to JotForm - sucess (1min 5sec total upload time)

This is definitely not a new issue and lots of JotForm users are having similar issues...

I am looking for a definite answer if a real solution exists.

    Interesting finding:

I found a form from another user: http://jotformeu.com/form/32274005762348

note the domain in this form address... it's jotformeu.com

This form seems to work better... I tried uploading a 175mb file and cancelled the upload when it was almost ready. Uploads from my forms crash after reaching only 3-4 %

Why do some users have a different domain?

    Hi Andy,

We are truly sorry to hear that and apologies for any inconveniences caused.

We have domain separation rule imposed in each form depending on users location. Example, if you're from Asia, your form domain would be jotform.co or .me perhaps, and if you're from UK your domain would be jotformeu.com and for US, it will be jotform.us. It's main purpose is to limit the impact of any possible domain suspensions in the future.

As far as I know, multiple file files aren't capable of handling large files so we'd suggest not to use it otherwise the upload may fail at some point. It works best for files lower than 100MB.

However, the single file upload should work fine but take note on the Jotform limits, it's 1GB per upload only. If the single file upload doesn't work, try to recreate the field.

You can also try out other alternative file uploads like,

    Filepicker http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/filepickerIO

    Drag & Drop http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/drag_and_drop_upload

    Transloadit http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/transloadit

Feel free to update us should you have further questions or concerns and hopefully one of these tool works for you.

    Thanks!

    Hi Elton,

    Thank you for your response.

I still would like to know how I can get the file upload to work. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a problem with the way I've set the form up?

Can you try to upload a large file to test it for me?

Can you send me a link to a form that you have created that works and I can test it?

Please help, I need to get this up and running ASAP... our business depends on it.

    Elton,

I have looked into the widgets you suggested, but they are not a good option for us.

We need the regular, single file upload tool to work. The 1GB limit is not a problem for us.

I have spent A LOT OF TIME now trying to figure this thing out, so I would really appreciate your help with making it work.

This by the way is a paid account, but it seems that somehow we still have the 100mb limit that comes with a free account. Could this be the reason?

Please try to upload something large through our form to see if it will work for you.

    Thank you,

    Andy

    @ Andy,

As already suggested by our colleague Elton, for larger file size upload, it is recommended to use on the the single file upload option.

This by the way is a paid account, but it seems that somehow we still have the 100mb limit that comes with a free account. Could this be the reason?

I am sure this is not the reason as there are other users as well that have done this, but there were no reported issues that pertains to it as caused.

Can you please post your form here that allows upt to 1GB file size upload. We will try testing the form.

    Thanks.
