What am I doing wrong - Showing/Hiding Drop Down Menus

Asked by jrittenhouse on December 26, 2013 at 04:32 PM

    Hi,

I'm trying to create a drop down menu, where based on the selection you make will display an additional drop down menu below it. I've set up the conditions how I thought they should be, but it's not working. Am I doing something wrong?

It is on the "Armstrong Test" form in my account. i think you'll be able to see what I'm trying to accomplish in the drop down menus at the bottom.

if "test1" equals "Show DD2" it should display DD2 (dropdown) and hide DD3 and DD4

if "test1" equals "Show DD3" it should display DD3 (dropdown) and hide DD2 and DD4

if "test1" equals "Show DD4" it should display DD4 (dropdown) and hide DD2 and DD3

it works for "Show DD2" but not for any of the either selections.

Please let me know if you need more info. Obviously this is just dummy text for now. I need proof of concept before I actually get the info from my client.

Thanks for contacting us. Upon investigating your conditions on that form, as a rule of the thumb, if you have used a field in an action once on a specific condition, you should not use it again on another condition.

Also if you have Showed something such as SHOW DD2 or SHOW DD3, you do not need to declare HIDE DD2 or HIDE DD3 on other conditions. They automatically be hidden in the first place and hiding them is redundant which makes the conditions stop working.

Please delete all striked ones with red lines and they should start working. Here is a sample form in which I fixed the conditions.
