    How to stop optional sections from printing?

    I created a form for our Folk Arts Apprenticeship grant program. Items 2 and 7 repeat depending on the number of apprentices chosen in item 1 by the master artist. There is also a section for fiscal receiver information, hidden if not needed by a yes-no field in item 1. Lastly, there are signature fields in item 9, to accommodate the number of apprentices. I seem to have the form working as far as hiding the fields that are not needed, though I'm new to this and am happy to get suggestions for improvement. The problem I can't solve has to do with printing the form. We require our applicants to send us a signed paper copy of the completed application. How can I prevent the optional items from printing? Even if only 1 apprentice is present, the sections for all of them print. Also, if the printed copy is the critical one, I would like to hide or eliminate the "submit" button and/or emphasize the "print" button. Can you give me some suggestions?

    Preventing the Hiden fields from being printed using the Print Form button is not possible. What you can do is to implement the next workaround that will allow you to send to your form submissiters a PDF file of their submissions so that they can print it without the hidden fields.

    1. First of all, make sure enable the Hide Empty Fields on Email function.

    2. Then create an autoresponder email. You can learn abou that with this guide: Creating a form autoresponder

    3. While creating the Autoresponder, make sure to add the PDF Link in the Compose Email wizard.

    Finally click on Finish and Save the form.

    That will automatically add a URL that will allow your form users to download a PDF file of their submissions and print it. That pdf file will contain only the questions that were answered by your users. So, the hiden/empty fields will not appear.
