How can I re-use the FormID from one form to a newer version

Asked by PEvaluations on January 02, 2014 at 03:08 PM

    Hi,

I maintain a "production" form that must stay up all the time. In order to make changes to the form, I clone it and test my changes on the cloned form. When I am satisfied that everything is working, I have to go back and make the exact same edits to the production form. Is there a way I can assign the FormID from my production form to the new form (in a swap out or maintenance window) so that I don't have to change all the existing links, emails and other integration points that currently use the FormID (specifically lots of FileMaker scripts that pre-populate information).

    Thanks,
    Camille.

Unfortunately, this is not currently possible, you can not change/swap form IDs. I am not quite sure if this is technically possible to add such functionality to our current forms engine, but I will submit a feature request ticket for our Development Team for review.

We will let you know if we have any news on this.
