Using edit link in save form to continue later

Edit link would be for ME to edit THEIR form? I think it was misunderstood. I want them to be able to edit their form before sending it to me - in other words, for them that if they see a mistake they can edit the form prior to sending it w/o losing all their info.

Anyone who has the Edit link, can edit the entry. For example, you can add the Edit link to the form Autoresponder. However, you are right, this will not work with not submitted entries.

Also, the sample of the "save & continue," after watching the video, there is no option for "immediate" as displayed in the video - the actual video must be from an older version of Jotform. Can you help?

Yes, the 'Timeout: immediate' was changed to 'Save on data changes'.

I wonder if I am being clear. So my employee needs to fill out this form so I can pay him/her. When they are filling it out, if they need to do something and get back to it, is there a way to save it? Also, if they make a mistake, is there a way for them to go back w/o losing all their info?

Yes, this is possible. You might consider using one of the following options:

    1. How to Enable Auto Fill Feature | Save Form Entries to Continue Later

That Auto Fill method is based on browser local storage. In other words, it is saving the form data on users browser, so user can open the form later and he/she will see the past data. Note, user will need to use the same browser to access the data.

    2. How to Save Forms to Continue Later (Session Method)

The Session method is saving the data on our servers. With this method you will need to use two forms, one for session generation and the second form as primary. Then, users will be able to access their sessions from any locations.

I think it's more complicated than necessary.  Here's what I am looking for.

Jane is filling out the form.  She realizes by the third page that she made a mistake on the first page.  She hits the "back" button to correct it and then hits the "next" button to go back to where she was.  I want to ensure that Jane will not LOSE all the info she has already typed thus far into the form.  As far as it keeping the same info each time the form is accessed by Jane, I don't think that is what I want as Jane may access this form several times a week, each time inserting different information.  The only static information will be her name.  Everything else will be different.

That leads me to ask the following:  If Jane Doe works for me and completes form after form and John Doe works for me, too, is there any way that Jane and John can have their name appear time and time again so they don't have to always put that data in?  Clearly they are only going to put their name in so to have to do it again and again may be nice to not have to...just thinking out loud, as I do!

    Thanks!  I await your replies...

Since you mentioned "back" and "next" buttons, you may try to use session method. This requires page break tool (under survey tools) which divides your form into multiple pages, and you can navigate through out the pages by hitting next and back page break buttons. With session method, the data is saved once "next" button is clicked.

Any of these two saving method clears the saved data once the form is submitted, in other words, a static data isn't possible with this feature. However, you can achieved this by prepopulating data to the name field using URL parameter so whenever the form is loaded, the name is always populated to the name field of your form.

Example, you can give the following form URL to John.

For Jane, just replace the name value John.

To prepopulate data to a field, please use this app.
