Asked by Krespov on January 07, 2014 at 04:27 PM

Having two dropdown questions with several options each, I would like that based on the chooce in question 1, only certain choices in question 2 be accepted as valid.

    @Krespov,

Thank you for contacting us. You can use the conditional rule to apply the process that you wanted. This is how I understand your question,

    1. You wanted to put 2 dropdown menu

    2. Several option for each dropdown menu

    3. The selection for dropdown 2 will be based on what the user selected in Dropdown 1 option?

Can you please check this form is this is close to what you want http://form.jotform.co/form/40067380355856?

    Good morning friends,

Thank you for the prompt response. I will expand in what my needs are.

I have the field "Level at which you seek entrance", let's call it Field1, with the following options:

    - First Form

    - Second Form

    - Third Form

    - Fourth Form

And I also have another field labelled "Last year of approved studies", let's call it Field2, with the following options:

    - Standard Six

    - First Form

    - Second Form

    - Third Form

Now, what I need to happen is the following:

If the respondent chooses "First Form" in field 1, I would like that the only option available in field 2 be "Standard Six"

If respondent chooses Second Form in field 1, I would like that the only option available in field 2 be "First Form"

If respondent chooses Third Form in field 1, I would like that the only option available in field 2 be "Second Form"

If respondent chooses Fourth Form in field 1, I would like that the only option available in field 2 be "Third Form"

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Hi,

That's possible but it has the same approach from what my colleague has started. Unfortunately, we do not have options that dynamically changed other field options thru condition.

Basically you have to define the 5 dropdown fields.

    1. 1 dropdown field (Field1 with the four options)

    2. 4 dropdown fields (Separate Field2 in each dropdown with single options)

    Here's how it looks:

    Check this example: http://form.jotform.co/form/40070843328854?

Feel free to clone this form if this meets your requirements and to figure out the conditions setup.

Let us know here if we can be of further assistance. Regards!

Actually, I just realized that I have repeated my colleagues answer. :)

I would suggest to try it out. That's the only available solution we could provide that is doable in the form builder.

    Regards!
