    Hi there,

I hope you're doing well and thanks for reaching out.

Kindly supply the information asked below so we can further investigate:

    1. Exact make and model of the Xiaomi phone
    2. Link to the form
    3. Screenshot of what is shown on the Xiaomi phone when trying to take a picture.

In the meantime, please check that the JotForm app has permission enabled to use the phone's camera.

    Let's open Settings.
    Go to the
    Manage Apps.
    Then click on
    Permissions.
    Select
    Camera.
    Ensure that JotForm has access.

    Once done, try again.

We look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi,

It is a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9

People access it from a browser.

Thanks for patiently waiting. I was not able to reproduce the issue on the same phone using Chrome and Firefox.

I have a few more questions so we can properly check:

    1. How many people are complaining about this?
    2. Can you get us a screenshot of what they're seeing when they tap "Take Photo"?

In my test, the browser asked me what application I'd use to take a photo with when I tapped "Take Photo." The options were "Camera" and "File." If only a single user complains about this, he might have chosen "File" which became the default application whenever he taps "Take Photo." Please see the screenshots below:

    1622800554 60b9f8aa35cfa Screenshot 10

This is what they'll see after choosing "Files"

In that case, you can just inform the user to take a photo of the item before filling out the form. When the user gets to this page, he/she can just tap "Gallery" and choose the photo.

We look forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks for your amazing answer.

I think the problem is in duckduckgo browser, could you check there?

Due to the limitations of our test device(powered by Browser Stack), we're unable to install Duckduckgo browser, unfortunately.

However, please advise the user to clear the default apps in their phone's Settings. Refer to the guide below:

    Open Security application.

    Click on ‘Manage apps’.

Tap on File Manager from the list

Scroll to the bottom, click on [clear defaults].

    Once that's done, try again.
