Form 1 to Form 2 for Client Approval

    Hello,

This may take a bit to explain. I have looked through countless support articles AND I have tried the Approvals feature. I am not finding what I am looking for. While I love the Approvals that JotForm has added, there is functionality missing that we really need. In my mind I think we can build what we need. FORM 1 is filled in and completed by an employee of our company. FORM 2 is a decision from our client based on the information added to FORM 1. This would be an artwork approval/deny workflow.

    1. FORM 1: Employee fills out with pertinent information for an order. This form would have client name, client email, order number and order details. Employee would also upload images.
    2. On submit, client would receive an email with the details of FORM 1 displayed in the email. Ideally I would like to add a button in the email (REVIEW PROOF) that then takes them to FORM 2.
    3. FORM 2 is where I am running into problems. I only want the information from FORM 1 to display. It doesn't need to be form fields. I don't want the form fields to be editable. It just needs to display the Field Name: Response. Additionally, on FORM 2, images that were uploaded from FORM 1 need to display. The only action on FORM 2 is APPROVE or DENY based on the data and images from FORM 1.
    4. Once the information displays correctly and they click on APPROVE then it would conditionally show additional fields. I know how to do conditional things so my support request is not about this step.
    5. APPROVE: Agree to terms and sign.
    6. DENY: Text box to give feedback for changes to artwork.

I hope this makes sense. I completely understand how to pass information from one form to another using URL parameters. I need to display the data and images on a 2nd form so the client can review the data and images and submit a decision.

    Hi,

To my understanding of your requirement number 3, you need to prepopulate the Form 2 images from the uploaded image on Form 1.

Unfortunately. you can't prepopulate a file upload field due to security context issues. We can only get the URL file link, but we cannot pre-fill the upload field using URL parameters.

Could you please provide us with the Form URLs you're currently working on so we can take a look?

We look forward to your response.

    Hello,

    The forms are below:

    Form 1: https://form.jotform.com/211535417199055

    Form 2: https://form.jotform.com/211535701485049

I understand that I can't display the image from Form 1 on Form 2. While I don't understand this as a security issue, I understand that the functionality doesn't exist.

So let me follow up with a couple of other options.

    1. Is there a way to create a form that has "Save for Later" functionality. The Image could be uploaded with preview. The save for later link could then be sent to the client.
Is there a way to lock previous fields from being "reasnwered" so the only functionality would be for the client to review and submit based on the remaining fields?
    2. I know it has been asked before and I will ask again...
.on JotForm approvals, is it on the radar to have control over what happens when the "Approve" or "Deny" buttons are clicked? Taking our client to the inbox is just a killer. It would be fantastic if we could take them to another form instead.

Thanks and I look forward to hearing back.

    Greetings,

Is there a way to create a form that has "Save for Later" functionality.

Yes, we have that feature. To enable it, go to Settings > Form Settings > Show more options > Enable Continue Forms Later.

As for your other concerns, I have moved them to different tickets so that they could be addressed accordingly. Check the links below.

That broke my case down into several individual instances and was of no help. Now my question is spread out over multiple threads. Ugh

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

We usually separate multiple questions to multiple threads so that they could be addressed accordingly. We do this as most single thread catering multiple questions leads to a very long thread with overlapping ideas.

Should you have further inquiries, kindly let us know.

    Thank you.
