When you set a form to send a PDF to Dropbox, and it is filed by a field name on the form, it will only hold one form, older ones get overwritten! is there any way of adding the form by date in a specific field name dropbox folder

    Hello kevinreynolds,

Thank you for posting your inquiry.

You are right about this.  As this is not a bug but this seems to be a problem somehow with selected field names as filenames and if similar names are alike, it will overwrite the previous one. At the moment, it is best to use the submission ID or anything that will make your submission unique to the other.

I will also submit a ticket to the developers and see if they can think of a better idea for this, such as to add an option that will provide a date beside the folder name so to mean a different submission.

Thanks for putting this into our attention.

    Warm regards,

    Liyam

Has this issue been addressed? Is there a way to add a date next to the name of the folder? It is better for us to use a name and not a submission ID as the sub ID has no meaning to us and makes it impossible to match up orders from specific people. We do have the problem of people that reorder and then their new folder overwrites the old one. In some cases it is OK but in others we lose files and need to re ask for them.

Yep - 8 months on and still no fix - as a paying customer this is rediculous - the API for dropbox is not that complicated.

Please can we have a fix urgently!!!  Even if it creates a daily Folder, A folder from a field would be brilliant.

Come on Dropbox, dont let us dropboxers down...

We are very sorry for the delay on this.

Our Developers are extremely busy, and it may take some additional time to solve the issue. The problem is assigned to one of our Developers, and marked as important one. You may use some other folder name field for Dropbox integration, like Unqiue ID or Submission ID, until this is fixed.

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Our Developers are working hard on improving the services, and we do have plans to rewrite our Dropbox integration using their new API. It will be more robust and reliable.

As soon as we get updates from our Development Team, we will let you know.

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Hello guys. Sorry for this late update.  We have now implemented a feature for the dropbox integration that can allow two field names to be merged to have one folder name. You can still modify your dropbox settings on the submissions page.

On clicking Manage Integration, a wizard will appear for you to configure your Dropbox settings.  Select the folder name you wish to use, and the extended folder name on the 2nd field.

This way there will be no worries for unexpected overwriting files if you choose your first, or your 2nd field that sends a unique identifier (such as the submission ID).

This is how the folder looks like with the configuration of a first name-last name, and submission ID fields set on the dropbox configuration.

Please let us know if you have further questions or concerns.

    Thanks.
